DSOGaming writes: "As we said in our performance analysis, we love Bohemia. Yes, Take On Helicopters has some performance issues with modern-day hardware but this is a title for a niche market and a game that could have not been developed by - pretty much every - other triple-A studios. Yeap, that’s the magic of independent games. And we are really amazed with its protection system as it’s not as intrusive as Ubisoft’s awful attempts, yet it’s even more effective than the atrocious always-online DRM systems."
DSOGaming writes: "Good news for all DayZ fans, as Bohemia has revealed that the standalone version of DayZ will be playable at this year’s E3."
Bohemia Interactive has released new updates for helicopter simulation game Take On Helicopters; game owners can download these updates now on Steam. These updates add two new free DLC packs, along with a number of improvements to the game.
Looking forward to Rearmed as I just can't get enough of Arma 2 game world!
NoiseControllers just seems like some gimmicks tossed in for free!
Take on Helicopters has me confident enough to Jack our local traffic Helicopter! lol
DSOGaming writes: "Our reader 'GhostRiderLSOV' has sent us one of the most ambitious ArmA 2 machinima movies we've ever seen. Directed, edited and produced by Binary Orchestra, this movie shows an invasion at Seattle that puts against the US army with the Russian one. Physics and animations are average at best, but the scale of this machinima movie, the music that has been used and the fact that it can really move you is unprecedented. Enjoy!"
Utter genius! Ubisoft: take note.
Good DRM system so long as it doesn't affect legit users :P
Truly genius.
All developers take note.
Hopefully LA Noire DRM will not be terrible.
I love FADE. It forced me to buy the original and throw away the pirate version. Don't judge me. The game was unavailable for months (nearly a year) in my place. By the time it was available, it only lasted for a couple of weeks on the online order list before taken out. The online shop then replaced it with the Arma2 + Arrowhead expansion pack.
As a former pirate, I've seen those blurring effects and some warning appear on the screen telling me about that possibility. As if the game KNOWS I'm playing a pirate version and yet allow me to continue playing. Another effect is your shots became inaccurate overtime. I kept missing even when trying to shoot a friendly at point blank. The game crashes whenever I tried to use the Armory mode which deserve more attention from other developers. A brief visit to the site made me realize the DRM's true power.
A month later I got an original copy and I never re-experienced those degraded gameplay or effects. That legal copy introduced me to the online multiplayer experience for the first time.
Yes, I actually love a DRM.
I'm surprised no other developers/publishers are aware/care of FADE. I thought it was an effective one and the others should at least try to copy it instead of pushing us with the permanent internet thing.
Great stuff :), but wait for a week, it'll be hacked.
