VideoGamer.com writes: "£11.62. That's how much I've currently spent on discounted PC games as part of Steam's ten day 'Summer Camp' sale. It's not a lot of money, but we're less than halfway through the event. Last week I detailed what I consider to be 11 overlooked bargains in the Steam Summer Sale, but I've got all of those games already. Valve, however, has found a way to keep me spending.
Steam is the model that all other digital platforms should strive to imitate but, when it launched as a beta alongside Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2002, I said I would never buy a digital product from Valve's platform in my entire life. I lost: I now have 258 games in my Steam library. Just how did Valve make a piece of software that so utterly and comprehensively annihilates rival platforms such as Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, GamersGate, and Direct2Drive?"
This article explains how to link your Steam and PlayStation Networks accounts, which is becoming a must for Helldivers 2.
Save the quarters and blast everything to oblivion at home!
Steam is changing its refund policy, but you probably won’t be affected
Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.
Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.
Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?
Good article.
I wish PSN had huge sales like Steam, i guess the "PSN Loves DLC" sale is a start.
Ill use Steam when they sell games that is exactly like buying the retail copy in the store. Which means WITH NONE OF THE UPDATES ALLREADY INSTALLED. Bought gta iv and steam version is the worst for mods because it came with the latest update. I don't like companies controlling what I want to do with my game.
"Why Steam is miles ahead of the competition"
Because of Summer Sales. Because of Winter Sales. And everything in between those too ;D
Another crap load of stuff bought today from steam. It is killing my wallet. Just looking now and I have 125 games all of them installed and ready to play at the click of a button.
I would say the main reason steam is ahead of the competition is that they try and make the sale items available to ALL countries (you heard me EA, D2D and Gamersgate). Steam is successful because they realised one crucial tiny small detail and that is PC gaming is GLOBAL and not limited to the US.
