DC Universe certainly looks better, but then again City of Heroes is 7 years old.

Chris3994852d ago

Than standard point and click MMO fare.

It was a bit of an adjustment for a friend of mine who is a long time WoW player, but he's having a blast once he adapted to it.

Am waiting for Tera I think for my action MMO fix, Not that am sure DC Universe won't be awesome I just don't enjoy American art style games like WoW and such.

Chris3994852d ago

and I'm definitely into fantasy more than super heroes or "modern day" settings, but I adore this game. Make of that what you will. There's just so many options on how to play and shape your toon that it's addictive.

Ryudo4852d ago

I will have to see I don't really have £40 to spend on a punt right now. Also sometimes to many body shape options ruin a game for myself.

Take Aion for example, that had insane customization. And people could make some truly interesting characters because of it.

But on the flip side people could make some truly ugly pathetic looking characters that ruined the fantasy feel to the game. Although this is all American art style so I guess fantasy feel doesn't matter.

I think I will see how the reviewers call it, If they think it's the second coming I will certainly consider it. I just got burnt with FFXIV collects edition. I don't plan on wasting that sorta money again.

don't worry this game is pure fun. kind of like infamous on crack with a rpg and social aspect to it.
I'm playing on a PVE server right now. but my son is on the PVP side. which is really the way the game should be played. good times jump in.

MMOs In 2021 Retrospective: Console Edition

WTMG's Thomas Medina: "As far as I’m concerned, console MMOs have always been in a weird place. PC is where the main game is most popular. MMOs were born there, work best there, and have the vast majority of titles. Mobile is then next in line, with touchscreens and portability that adds something new while functioning well. Console gaming, on the other hand, is not portable (for the most part). Plus, it uses a controller, which is not the best instrument when your control scheme requires a thousand buttons and a cursor. That being said, there is an audience, and where there’s money to be made, publishers find a way. So here we are with some of the biggest console MMO games and how I feel they handled 2021. "

The Best Games You Can't Officially Buy Anymore

From Xfire: "It's been estimated that roughly half of the video games ever released on the market can no longer be downloaded or purchased. Whether this is exactly correct is not the point. Rather, we think that either way, the video game industry, as a whole, has done a terrible job at preserving video games and making older titles available to play for future generations."

Terry_B1072d ago

You can play all of these games still lol. The headline is just misleading. Funny is that there is not one game in the list that you really can't play anymore due to it being online only games.

CorndogBurglar1072d ago (Edited 1072d ago )

Its not about games you can't play. Its about games you can't officially buy anywhere.

Terry_B1072d ago

The author changed it actually

Army_of_Darkness1071d ago

Who needs to buy these games anyway? Most of them are average at best and won't really be missed.

littletad1072d ago (Edited 1072d ago )

It says buy, not play though. You can't purchase Deadpool or the Simpsons game anymore. Unless you have a 360 for the simpsons or a physical copy of deadpool, or purchased it before it was delisted.

Look at his comment. It's from 9 hours ago. Article goes back 4 hours. Title might have been changed after realising the mistake

One you actually legit cannot play AT ALL is Noby Noby Boy. I miss turning my brain off and messing around in that game, was so psyched to re-download it when i rebought a ps3 slim, but you cant, even if it's in your downl library, along with a few other obscure PS3 games i had.

NecrumOddBoy1072d ago

The original memes to the moon game. Loved NNB on PS3.

FreeckyCake1072d ago

I would replace Transformers Devastation with War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron tho.

Knightofelemia1072d ago (Edited 1072d ago )

Transformers Devastation was good but not as good as Fall and War of Cybertron they should be on the list. SH 2 I can play any time I want since it came free in a $10 Xbox I bought used. The Simpsons Arcade I have on my PS3 surprised the Xmen Arcade game is not on this list or the Turtles arcade game either.

CorndogBurglar1072d ago

I had the X-Men arcade game on my 360. I don't know if Xbox Live is still a thing or not, and of it is, I don't know of they still sell X-Men. But it was deinitely on Xbox Live at some point.

Knightofelemia1072d ago (Edited 1072d ago )

If you had X-Men before you can redownload it from your transaction history on the 360 Microsoft did not castrate the 360 from online. That is how I was able to redownload the old TMNT arcade game to my 360 you can't play it on XB1 or Series X but you can still access it for sure on the 360.
