You conveniently ignored review scores. No Gran Turismo game has scored 90+ on Metacritic in over 20 years, since the PS2!! That’s before Forza even existed. Seven Forza games have scored 90+, as recently as last year. The truth is Gran Turismo has long been surpassed by Forza quality-wise.
Can’t hurt to try it on Game Pass. For me, Bethesda is one of those rare studios whose games are a day one purchase no matter what. Only Rockstar and Naughty Dog are on that same level for me.

I’m getting déjà vu back to 2017. The first Horizon came out and then a week later Breath of the Wild came out and stole all the attention. Same thing is happening now with Forbidden West and Elden Ring.

Retailers don’t buy copies if it’s not selling. Last year was GTA V’s second best selling year, only behind 2013.
Vehicles were much more destructible in GTA V at launch, but they gimped the vehicle damage when they added first person mode. If the car could deform too much, it would obstruct the player’s cockpit view.

I can’t believe Forza Horozon 5 won so many GOTY awards. Don’t get me wrong, it completely deserves them. But that is unprecedented for a racing game.
I thinking you’re looking backwards. Console hardware sales are hardly relevant anymore. Microsoft is acquiring these studios to bolster their Game Pass lineup first and foremost. They don’t care if you’re playing on PC, Xbox, mobile, or maybe one day on your Switch.

I still can’t wrap my head around the immensity of this acquisition. Just a week ago, Take Two acquiring Zynga became the biggest gaming acquisition in history at 12.7 billion. And now this one is over five times bigger at 68 billion.
For perspective with other industries, Disney spent 71 billion on Fox.
