Meh, that was kind of a disappointment. Free-to-play is nice tho.
They f'ed up, plain and simple, they have mishandled EVERY aspect of the Xbox One reveal and now everyone has a bad taste in their mouth. If I had any say in the matter over at Microsoft, heads would be rolling right now.
Its not just the overly complicated solution to used games, either. I'm sure publishers more than had a hand in that but I will NEVER understand the reasoning behind this decision. Its a problem that wouldn't exist if more people downloaded their...
My god, is it even possible for Microsoft to look worse than they do right now?
- Horrible Xbox One reveal
- PR disaster surrounding the DRM and used games issues
- MS avoiding answering questions directly
- Kinect required
- Less powerful than the PS4
- Indie devs getting the shaft
- Having to underclock the GPU (which further widens the gap in power between the Xbox One and the PS4)
- The UI and voice recognition we sa...
I'm taking this with a grain of salt, but if this is true, it could be a very bad situation for Microsoft. If they have to underclock the GPU to fix the heating issues, couldn't the Xbox One potentially be closer to the Wii U in terms of raw power than it would be to the PS4?
Wow, they actually used the words "kill sony"?
The amount of arrogant crap pouring out of Microsoft's mouth at the moment in ridiculous. Obviously no one told them they have no reason to be confident after that reveal.
Normally I'd like to see some competition and have the sales divided among the three but I hope Sony and Nintendo bury Microsoft.
I'm not a huge FPS fan, but I'm very curious to see how Destiny gameplay looks. Other than that, inFamous: Second Son, can't wait for that. I also think we'll get a trailer for Uncharted 4.

Well, the line went something like that...
Help out guys, if Sony really is on the fence, we need to get #PS4NoDRM trending. Tweet @yosp
This is a chance to make a difference. Lets get to work!
I agree, I just love that grin he makes when he takes jabs at the competition or even the RIDGE RACER one he pulled on Kaz. Nobody is better at that than Jack.
I could totally see him opening their press conference, big applause from the crowd when he takes the stage and he goes "Wow, that loud applause, for me? Are you sure that's not coming from the speakers?" And then he gets that big grin on his face.
Can't wait for June 10th! Enough pre...
If its in the user-agreement and they make it clear that you're not buying the game, you're actually buying a license to play the game, I believe its perfectly legal. That's the impression I was under, but I'm not 100% certain.
@PSVita
I follow the industry closely, so I was very aware of who he was and some of the stuff he's done. After they announced him as lead system architect, I did more research on him however, as it turned out I've played almost every game he's worked on since Crash Bandicoot. But yes, I knew who he was before, I just wasnt aware of how many games he contributed to and he wasn't directed one in a while, so that's exciting.
Knack, InFamous and Killzone are definite buys for me. With Cerny in the directors' chair, you know Knack is going to be badass.
Man, and I thought Sony was arrogant when they launched the PS3. This is a new level of the middle finger to their fans. It will blow up in their faces.
All you gotta do is block out used games and EA will come-a-runnin!
Take off the fanboy glasses, man. Even if you're an Xbox fan and plan to buy one, its okay to stand up and say what they're doing is wrong.
What Microsoft is doing at the moment, is completely anti-consumer. If you have a different opinion that's fine but there's no need to attack PlayStation or their fans.
The thing I find most interesting, that Joe talked about in this video, they pushed this event back one month to respond to the PS4.
What feature did they tack on last minute? Video sharing? Controller layout?
I know a lot of people are saying this, but if they launch the Xbox One without allowing used games and requiring an internet connection for the console to function, the PS4 will freaking kill the Xbox. Game over.
I don't mean to hate on the Xbox, I owned an original Xbox and a 360 but man... this is bad. They better get Tiger Woods' publicist to start doing some damage control.
The first fifteen minutes will probably be them announcing and explaining the console, outlining the specs. Then you would think they'll spend at least a half-hour announcing and showing off games. Probably a ten minute or so stage demo for Call of Duty. Then they'll get into Kinect and new XBL features.
Squeezing all that into one hour doesn't seem likely, guessing they'll save a lot of that stuff for E3.
Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Journey come to mind. None of them have made me cry, but I definitely got a little emotional at certain parts.
I'm sure there are a few others, but I can't think of any at the moment.
Going to GameStop first thing in the morning to get my pre-order in.
I'd rather buy from Best Buy, but I've had a few bad experiences pre-ordering games from Best Buy, so this one time I'll go with GS.
