On the issue of price, I think it *MAY* be possible, given that the core Xbox technology is what, 4-5 years old by then? Even if there are internal redesigns or new motherboards, the cost would have sunk a lot by then.

On the issue of Sony's Wands being out for months by then... nothing's confirmed I think. Sony may have plans to bring it out by Q1 / Q2 next year, but given how these things are delayed, I wouldn't be surprised if it launched back to back with Natal.

She may have gone overboard in smashing his PS3, but violence against women, or children, or men, or anyone IS NEVER OK.

No one learned anything from the whole Chris Brown thing?

If my GF broke my PS3 that way, that means we have issues. If we can't resolve the issues, we break up. If we can, we get stronger.

But NO VIOLENCE. NEVER.

The day one of your loved ones get beaten up, you come back here and read your own comments. You'll be disgust...

Speaking as a gamer to (hopefully) another, I just wanted to tell you that your time is better spent playing games.

Really. When you look back at how your time was spent you'll be happier for it.

Those of you who say the PS3 has been hacked... please provide a link to proof, like a video of someone running a disc-based game without the disc.

@ 1.17 Risky_24: were the games your friend was playing PSN games? If not, could I trouble you to just give the name of the game your friend played, and his firmware version number? =)

I took a blank DVD, drew a picture of a cat and an umbrella on it, and popped it into my PS3...

AND THE PS3 COULDN'T RUN IT!

My lousy PS3 can't even handle the simple basic game I programmed, called Cat Attacks With Brolly, Part 2! It only does everything? Nonsense!

I then took the same (no longer blank) DVD and popped it into my Wii and 360, and both of them COULDN'T HANDLE IT TOO!

Finally, I put the DVD into my PC drive, and the message po...

I mean, apart from the complete lack of evidence in the article, I don't think it quite gels that someone at Pandemic did it for revenge.

It's not that I believe every single employee at Pandemic loved the company and game so much that they wouldn't have done it - it's always possible someone who was sufficiently pissed off did it.

I think the more interesting point is raised by RadiantFlux at comment 3, that after all the leaks this year, it's more likely that someo...

who is as tired as I am over this console war thing?

I seriously cannot find the energy in me to rehash another old, tired argument in favour of the PS3 / 360 anymore...

Age is catching up with me.

You don't want your PS3 drive to spoil...

... so you would rather play it on the more reliable 360?

I'm no career guidance counselor, but even I can see you have a future in PR marketing.

Or not.

Free bird for Xbox 360.

Flipping the bird to PS3.

I want free digital things too. Sigh.

Reading GB's and EG's reviews, it seems that the EG reviewer hasn't played too much of Borderlands. EG played a level 20 Siren, and therefore didn't find the DLC to be lacking in content, loot, or enemies.

GB's reviewer seemed to have completed the game already though, and therefore didn't find anything new besides the env...

Could you elaborate on what else you like about the DLC? I'm looking for more reviews on it, but it's still quite new DLC.

My quick questions to anyone who has played it:

- Is the frame rate problem game-breaking?
- If you completed main campaign 2x and all sidequests, are the quests here fun or repetitive?
- How many new enemy types are there?
- Are there new vehicle types?
- Is there really no raised level cap?
- Are there any new skil...

I was waiting for this with so much anticipation...

Finished main campaign + all side quests a few weeks ago on PS3. Was hoping for new level cap + new gear... come on, what expansion doesn't give these basic things?

Furthermore, console owners are still, STILL waiting for a simple patch to allow 5 lines of weapon attributes to be shown... gearbox said the fix was found 2 weeks ago, but have yet to deploy it...

Thought they would deploy patches in conjun...

I love my PS3, and have been happy and satisfied since the day I bought it.

So what if another 10 million young children and elderly people get the Wii this hols? Wouldn't change a thing about how much fun I'm having gaming on the PS3.

I bet my fellow 360 owners feel the same way too.

When I read reviews, I want to hear what an experienced games journalist has to say about the strengths and the flaws in a game.

Heck, I'm about to plonk down $60 bucks for it, I want to hear someone brave enough to tell me what he thinks is wrong with it. I don't want some fanboy gushing to me about how great and lovely it is.

If I wanted that, I'll just come to the N4G open zones more often.

These are the other candidates:

1. New stability / game-fixing patches - expected support, no need for them to specially announce.

2. Improvements to graphics a la Ghostbusters - unlikely, design choice to have gameplay take priority over graphics, too large an overhaul.

3. Co-op support - err, it's a single-player game.

4. Bundled DLC / price drops - unlikely this early in the game's life.

For the thousandth time, when there is a healthy used-game market, first-hand buyers SPEND MORE because there is always the option of selling games if they end up tight for cash.

Take away the used-game market, and first-time buyers will realize that when they sink their money into games, they are essentially locking away that cash for good, and WILL SPEND LESS.

True, the used-game market undercuts developers, but to say that buying used-games is not much different f...

Which platform you guys getting it for? After ALL the smack talk from both sides over the last few months, when it comes down to it, I wonder which platform it's going to sell better on.

In my extended family of 8 households, 5 households bought a Wii, and 2 bought a Xbox360 or PS3.

But then again, those Wii-households bought maybe 3-5 games each - Super Smash Bros, Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy, maybe a few other 3rd party titles. Doesn't help that the cousins in those households aren't... "hardcore" gamers.

Me? I've got over 20+ titles in my library, my other HD-enabled cousin has gotten 15+ for his.

EA, try to read the demog...
