Slightly sad but not too sad. The thing I hate about Diablo is it makes me feel like I'm wearing my mouse out with so much clicking. I'd rather press a button to swing a sword than click on an enemy to swing at. But I still enjoy Diablo a bunch and there's a good chance that my PC will be able to handle it, so hooray!
Even better: Maybe Microsoft will work on something WORTHWHILE instead.
Now THAT'S newsworthy: "REDMOND, Washington - A study has uncovered that most Sony fans were fathered by Bill Gates. Until now, hardware failures and general corporate evil were thought to be to blame for their feelings of enmity."
OK- I'll keep this one "on the hush."
Who bashed Home that now praises GamerPad? I think Home is stupid and I will probably think this GamerPad thing is stupid, too. I don't care if the dollhouse is MS or Sony, it's still a dollhouse. From the comments I've read, that seems to be the general sentiment of xbox gamers.
I hope not. Home is a stupid idea, imo. I'd rather MS be working on something worthwhile. I have no desire for a virtual world or a virtual me. I just wanna pwn some n00bs.
How about if people want to post fanboy crap they just don't mark it for both systems? This should be marked PS3, xbox fanboy crap should be marked just xbox, and that way I don't have to wade through this stuff to find things that are actually worth reading.
Nooooooooooo!! Not again!
For those who don't know, here's a place where die-hard fans discuss Fallout: http://www.nma-fallout.com/...
Yeah, introductory stat creation levels are incredibly lame. It's very telling that in Oblivion, there were numerous mods for skipping the opening jail sequence. It was interesting the first time. The problem is, most people already have an idea of who their character will be; they don't need to go through all these tests to determine it.
Cutesy kids books = not standard Fallout material.
Oops!
As for COD4, yeah it's overrated at least as much as Halo 3. I just beat COD4 on Veteran and it was fun, but not like it's the most wonderful thing in the universe. I still prefer Halo multiplayer.
If it were bad controls or glitches or graphics issues it might be cleaned up for the PS3, but it sounds like there are issues with the core gameplay, and it is seriously doubtful then that PS3's version is going to be any better.
I mean, that's pretty annoying that the inventory doesn't pause the game; and the realism of opening your coat isn't worth it if it makes it hard to manage the abundance of items you're going to need to use and combine.
Games that are just ...
Hardware problems are fixed. New 360's are much better, don't have the same issues, and have HDMI. Old 360's are covered by a very generous warranty. My bro's had red ring, sent it in, and it was back to him in no time. I take good care of my old 360 and have not had any problems whatsoever. What more do you want? If MS did release a 720 in a few years, it'll surely be a much better piece of hardware. Problem solved.
The author talks about shelling out $600. That was the cost of the PS3, not the 360. $400 is not a bad price to pay, especially when you consider how much it costs to keep a PC up-to-date so it can keep playing the latest games. 6 years is not a short lifespan, and certainly a long time to expect a PC to keep playing games well.
MS isn't perfect, but I don't think all of their business strategies are so horribly flawed. If the MS had released with a price of $600 I wouldn't have ...
I agree. I can understand for some people it isn't worth it, but to me it is. A price drop would always be nice, but it's not outrageous--not as much as a subscription MMORPG, for example.
And as I have said before, making it cost money means that MS has an effective means of banning cheaters, vocal racists, and other trouble makers. Sure, there are still plenty of such people on Live, but it could be much worse. At least when a person is banned, they can't just make a new ID wit...
I didn't know Halo Wars would feature Duke Nukem.
I'm no fan of SEGA, but if MS bought it I do think that'd be a plus. One person above argues against it saying that SEGA games have sold better on PS3. Well, that's exactly why MS would want to buy SEGA, then--making such games exclusive would give MS a good hold on the SEGA fanbase, which I hear is still significant, although even back in the day I didn't like the Genesis...
True. Good thing every yearly update will only cost every bit as much as the original console. I think I'll wait until they bundle it with the update that allows you to have pets.
Some of the article's criticisms about the units are pretty good. One of the key problems with WC3 is that Blizzard couldn't make up it's mind. While they did make post-release balace changes to SC, they were still easy enough to get used to, and didn't completely change gameplay, but made some units more useful (i.e. battlecruisers, which originally took a LOT more supplies so could not be easily mass-produced). With WC3, on the other hand, they just kept changing and changing and changing. ...
The unfortunate thing about getting a trophy for finishing a game 100% is that doing so is usually not as fun as it sounds. I love playing games for Achievements, but there tends to be one little achievement that is just too ridiculous to waste your life going for. For example, in COD4 I got all achievements except for finishing the bonus level on Veteran. That is just RIDICULOUS. Finishing that plane level in 1 minute basically requires you to do every single thing perfectly, almost not wast...
