The PS3 is desperate. The Slim was them grasping at straws to try to find something to get the masses buying their console. And it has worked. The PS3 is up 92% year over year. But even YOU have to admit that you expected Sony to KILL the XBOX360 in the month of November. And it's not going to happen.

And with a minimum of TWO price drops in its back pocket.

Microsoft understood that 2009 was a mediocre year ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS and the worst gaming year of this generation. So they understood that dropping their BANNER FRANCHISES would be a waste in a down year for the industry....
I don't necessarily agree with everything in it, but it was a good article.
First of all, no one is going to stop buying the Wii.
Secondly, the PS3 will not overtake the XBOX360 in 2010. If it ever does, it'll be after this generation has stalled. (But who cares?) Neither company makes money off of console sales. It doesn't matter, kids.

5. Valkyria Chronicles - Good, but not great game. was fantastic until it got corny and syrupy in the last third of the game. Sold like crap too. Underperformed.
4. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - The best movie of 2008. 90% cutscenes, and 10% gameplay. Netflix should be jealous.
3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Fantastic Game. Somewhat linear, but I can't complain. "Dude Raider" underperformed in sales, but delivered in gameplay.
If anyone needs more proof that PS3 is primarily a BluRay Player, look no further than this.

I love when they come in and criticize a game that is going to be released on XBOX360 in 2010. Alan Wake looks fantastic and will redefine the genre. They know it. And they are TERRIFIED. Why?
Check their exclusive releases for the year:
White Knight Chronicles - Will barely go platinum.
MAG - Will FLOP. HARD.
Heavy Rain - Niche title. 500,000 copies.
God of War III - Will sell, but not blockbuster-type numbers.

As I've stated a few times before, XBOX360 will never have a huge impact over there for a few reasons:
RROD
It may be a thing of the past, but Japan has no reason to trust Microsoft's machine when there are a few more reliable consoles in the country.
SIZE
In comparison to the PS3 and the Wii, Microsoft's White Behemoth looks too large. The Japanese have fully embraced the handheld, and they DEFINITELY won't be embracing the largest console.
