You could kill people in Thief, but the emphasis was on avoiding confrontation. And there was no need to kill when you could just hit them over the head with your cosh, and then dump their body in a concealed spot.
Or you could knock them out and toss them into a well or over a wall, which would likely kill them. I enjoyed doing that sometimes.
Difference is - the Vita has been out for over a year, the Wii U has been out for far less time.
Castle Wolfenstein created the genre actually, a game made in 1981.
Well it did define it, it was a game purely about stealth.
EDIT:Nevermind.
'Just the other day I was browsing Steam for a new game and downloaded the demo only to find my PC was missing one single component that made the whole game unplayable.'
What was this one component you needed?
'Most PC gaming is done on stock PCs that are several years old, which is a fact that PC gamers love to ignore'
I don't ignore it, I just don't care. I have a gaming pc and know what it's capable of, and enjoy playing on it. Why should I care what pc another person has?
It's also funny to see all this talk about how pc games aren't optimised, and yet a load of console games struggle to keep a decent framerate while I'm playing...
@dc1
Well I'd recommend getting it, it's well worth playing through. Every gamer needs to experience the Shalebridge Cradle level.
It's quite cheap on Steam at the moment, but if you wait until a sale you should be able to pick up the whole collection for next to nothing.
Well in all fairness they didn't do too bad this gen did they? They increased their fanbase by a very good margin and strengthened their market share. You have to give them some credit.
Thief 3 had the option of 1st or 3rd person.
'I love how you say that like you know me...BUT you only joined not even a month ago.
Are you a dup account ? '
I've seen plenty of your posts to have noticed, and how can I be off topic when I was responding to what you had posted? Which anyone can see was pretty negative.
This is an article about a crossover between Res Evil and Left 4 Dead, it's not about how Valve doesn't care about their game and characters, so if any...
Heh, one of the first soundtracks that popped in my head when I saw the article title was Hotline Miami, so I agree with that being on the list. Superb game as well.
Do you ever have anything positive to say lol?
Wow that's really clever. Did you think of that yourself?
You're so witty. Well done.
' I mean... really? Did they really have to make Lara die in those ways?'
Sorry but the way Lara dies is true to the series roots. It was possible to have Lara killed in loads of different and quite horrible ways in the original.
Since UC3 my ps3 has seen very little action. The sole purpose it has performed has been as a media center. Until The Last of Us comes out that won't change. Then I'll complete it and it will stay out of action until Beyond comes out.
Very dry days for my ps3.
@Kalowest
Really? But it wasn't even funny. You must be a comedians favourite audience member, crap comedians must love you.
Comedian: So a man walks into a bar. 'Ow' he says.
Kalowest: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH AHA.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's so funny!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I don't see nvidia selling their HQ to make money -

Amd and Sony have a lot in common.
@BitbyDeath
Just out of interest, what's the average wage in Australia?
I do prefer games with a decent sized campaign, as long as it doesn't have loads of filler. A great game that only lasts 6-8 hours is ok, but it's not as good as a great game that takes 20+ hours. Which is probably why rpgs are my favourite genre.
