You didn't read any of my comments did you? Please pay attention fanboy. Sony can have the best looking games on any console but if games are plagued by delays, cost overruns and underperforming sales it doesn't benefit the company or gamers and you have to begin to question the company's focus because it's not translating into great successes. The games are being outperformed on their own console by multiplatform titles so obviously, better graphics hasn't resonated with the mass consumer.
Why would a keyboard and mouse be an advantage with the game plays like a 3rd person action adventure game? I'm confused.
But MAG and Call of Duty play very differently and the Uncharted 2 multiplayer to me is very much, "love it or hate it" and I am not a fan. I really think the community has to get behind MAG. I want to play of full servers and have the team work which will set this game apart from other online experiences.
Graphical fidelity has nothing to do with a game's success, be it critical or commercial. The two have no correlation.
It doesn't matter how great the graphics are if the games don't perform at retail, offer gamers longevity or have the personality to differentiate themselves from multiplatform releases. I think you miss the point of my comment. Sony has chosen graphics as the main focus of its first and second party studios and have invested heavily not only financially but in sharing the technology among its studios to achieve this. Microsoft focus has been its XBox Live community. Left 4 Dead sold more tha...
I'll still give MAG a try though I agree that releasing it around or near Modern Warfare 2 is a horrid idea. Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2 and Call of Duty World at War were all released around the same time on the XBox 360 and all 3 sold really well. People act like PS3 owners can't buy and play more than one online multiplayer game at the same time.
Man, I hate UFC. It's so frustrating having players spam heavy attacks for flash knockouts.
I know right. I was thinking the same thing. Like don't we already have motion controls that developers haven't given any really focus to?!
I agree but it makes no mention of the PS3. I think they're refering to current gen development.
After reading the posting I really don't think it's for the next "next generation" of hardware. I think alot of developers still refer to this gen as "next gen" in job postings. I've seen a lot of them over at Gamasutra.
I still don't believe MMO's can or will work on consoles. I think the rush to bring MMO's to consoles is to capitalize on the success of WoW and the growing online communities on the consoles but the two audiences are very different.
Dude, I really wished people would stop comparing exclusives. The truth is Sony has invested heavily in custom engines for many of it's first and second party titles which have resulted in long delays, budget overruns and the company not recouping or making a profit when games perform below expectations at retail; that's a fact. I'm really beginning to question Sony's focus when more and more games get delayed each year. Meanwhile, Halo 3 uses an updated Halo 2 engine; the Call of Duty games ...
I'm betting Unreal Engine 4 is up and running outside of Tim's 4 man team that has been working on the core of the engine.
Well considering the game has sold near 4 million units on both the Xbox 360 and PC, 30,000 gamers is less that 1% of the fanbase. And half of those 30,000 are bandwagon jumpers who will buy the game anyway. Scratch that, 90% of those 30,000 will buy the game when it's released.
How is it's Sony's fault? With it's wealth of internal studios, should Sony lend a hand to every struggling 3rd party studio to give the damn effort to make a quality multiplatform game. Criterion did it, Ubisoft, Capcom and EA has done it. This falls on Terminal Reality. They're the ones who started proclaiming how much better the game would be if it were developed solely for the PS3 and the cell processor but what you get is a product that's half assed and shows they did not have a firm gra...
I love the PS3. It's exclusive games demonstrate what the hardware can do. That said, every developer doesn't have the same support of it's publisher to achieve the same level of successes. I'm talking about the financial support Sony gives to its first and second party studios, the shared technology of its studios, and an unrushed timetable to release titles. PS3 exclusive don't benefit from the power of the PS3 as much as they benefit from the great support of Sony.
That was so funny! I literally spit up my drink laughing. Bubbles dude!
Dude, your editorials are far from impartial and can be seen as no less inflammatory than those of immature writers on the many gaming blogs that have seem to spring up over recent times. Giving credence to another console or game on that console doesn't make many of your editorials any less sensational. To pretend now you don't know or expect the outpouring of negative emotion these editorials incite when posted here makes you even more delusional than the fanboys themselves. Pass the onus o...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, anyone who expected that he would not have any or little involvement in a Metal Gear game being made by his studio is surely delusional. It's a Metal Gear game being made by the company the bears his name, taking a franchise he created in a new direction, trust me, he's going to be heavily involved.
Okay, this is just ridiculous now. The PS3 always has motion controls which developers failed to take advantage off or implement properly. It's funny seeing fans of the HD consoles constantly criticize the Wii and it's controls but are now touting the PS3's motion controllers. Bullsh*t!
