I agree with him though. The invites, and missing chat support (cross game specifically) are a big deal to me.
For me, its something that when I first got into the platform and grew accustom to it. Its the same way with something like WOW. I go into it knowing I'll be paying yearly for MP.
I dislike it, but at the same time its where the games I like are. So I have to.
It will be interesting to see what MS does.

The fact my saves sync between my system and cloud is great IMHO. every night if my system sees a newer save, it downloads it. if the clouds is older than the one on my system....the cloud downloads my systems save. I'm never without my save.
it was a big downer. I like the way the PS3 does cloud storage more. means I'll never be left SOL when the cloud storage has a hick-up.
But Ill take the free month of XBL and move on. I was at mostly slightly annoyed, nothing major.
play the games regardless, hit up some Wii titles you might have missed...
use its apps for other forms of content.

I am a little bothered some games have me looking at the gamepad instead of my nice TV more often then others (pikmin minigame in Nintendo land is amazing, but im looking at my gamepad not my tv).

I disagree, we can get on the forums and bitch all we want... if the game is doing better and better in sales, they will do what makes them money.
on the flip side, just due to some forum posters you arnt going to get an executive at capcom to say "well DMC was a flop, lets listen to these posters and try again"
the few companies that do listen to their customers already have the games that adapt to their user base, and nothing any of us ever say wi...
Yes and no.... I can speak with my wallet, but a companies reaction to my voice doesn't always go the way I want it.
I dont buy the new DMC cause I didnt like the way it went? Capcom assumes the market doesnt have room for DMC and doesnt try again.

I play games for a story sometimes more than I do for game play. I like the universe constructed and the elements of a story I get to take part in.
when I game, I am my character so to have that taken away from me and told "no, despite how good you were doing, you failed" breaks the experience.
so yes... something like my character automatically loosing (or doing anything I other wise would have avoided happening as a playe...
games that make my character to be out worse than I am frustrate me. Boss fights you "loose" despite how well you were doing.
I have taken no hits, perfect boss fight, then a cut scene and my hero falls over almost dead and the boss laughing his ass off.
any time my skill as a player goes beyond that displayed in a cut scene or inferred by the story really breaks the game for me.

The flip side, how would an experiences Rookie actually do anything in a game. He certainly wouldn't know how to handle himself in a fire fight. He wouldn't know how to sneak up and knife a guy.
I would taken away from the experience if I was playing John Smith who never held a gun in his life and was yet an expert sniper when I played him.

Agreed, I have more problems with some of her arguments, assumptions, and her stereotype of men in gaming.
I find it rather amusing someone fighting for "Equality for Women" is so quick to put all men in the same bucket and generalize them as a gender.
The system is only good for single player games...

I agree gaming online should be free, with maybe some promotions (like PSN+ does.... which I am a member of) to bring in additional money.
