Great... but we don't even have the game in Europe yet! It's getting irritating.
Since trophy details and (if they do it) a system wide "gamerscore" will need network integration it doesn't surprise me that an update which disrupts the entire network is required.
I reckon (as a complete, uneducated guess) this has something to with 2.4's trophy system, but it does NOT mean the firmware update has to follow suit. If anything they'll be updating the network and then trying to use it with a few PS3's with the new firmware, checking everything works for...

Was Dark Cloud 3 actually confirmed?
TO THOSE PLAYING MGS4: Many of the posts below contain minor boss fight spoilers, so if you're still playing through MGS4 you may want to stop reading comments here.
As for my favourite boss fight, defeating 20 Metal Gear Rays in MGS2 on Extreme. Followed by the fight with Liquid in MGS1, just because of the memories associated with it.
The review might make it out to be terrible, but even so it looks like the kind of game I might like, I miss the old point and clicks.
I can't remember the last time I saw a 0 though, so I have my doubts of course.
I guess Echochrome is only coming out on the store once it's out in stores as well. (Early July if I remember correctly).
Not getting the MGS Database is daft if it's already multi-lingual... wtf is going on?
(Although I'll give the Civ demo a try for the hell of it).
Ok that does it, I'll go and buy the other 2. I've been thinking about it for ages and it keeps popping up every where I go. I might as well bow to the gaming gods and buy the damn thing already.
I don't care about exclusivity of Dark Cloud 3, as long as they make it and it's on the PS3 at least.
Reminds me of Folklore's box to be honest. (Not that it's necessarily a bad thing)
They probably own exclusivity rights, but not the game itself so Cloud and company aren't likely to appear on this fictional game, not to say it's impossible of course, Snake turned up in SSBB.
As far fetched as this game idea is, if it was made, I'd buy it :P
As a note to those who don't have it yet, don't forget your PS3's are region free. So importing as always possible.

Props for the crew.
LBP may not be out but they need to start generating public awareness for it. It's a game that a lot of people will want, they just need to know about it.
It will also help to see this on a big tv in a higher resolution. (Especially for people who own HD TVs and HD channels).

What were the first day sales for other popular games? Halo 3, SSBB, Prologue, GTA IV?
I'm not expecting MGS to outsell GTA or Halo, but I'm curious to know how close it is.
Bragging about 1 or 2 exclusives is exactly what the PS3 fanboys were doing last year. It comes and goes, and I'm sure in a few months the 360 fanboys will have a lot of exclusives to brag about.
And even though these words are coming from professional analysts, the fact remains that it is still guess work. Don't spout the PS3's dominance, the Wii's popularity or the 360's failure as fact until another 3 or 4 years have passed at least.
