Yeah, true.. sometimes it can be annoying to be on the receiving end. But most games have mute now anyways.

Hey, some of us have a stressful day at work and need to vent somewhere... maybe it's not appropriate, but whatever, I won't really care what someone I'll never see in my life thinks about me after I've cussed them out.

The fact that it's illegal is laughable.

Very good point. In the previous GTA games, there was only single player, so DLC would have been much more valuable. Now you have to look at GTA IV differently because there's online multiplayer. The only DLC that'll truly matter to most GTA'ers, will be DLC for the online multiplayer, if there is to be any.

But you like MS fanboys then? What's that make you?

I view it as a case by case basis. And everyone wins here. EA avoids a boycott, gamers get to play a game for only the initial cost. If EA decides to try this again in the future, I do not think the gamers will say "well, EA was nice last time, let's allow it this time."

I don't see how this can be viewed as anything but a victory. I'll give the game a shot now based on how good it is. Though since I'm a PS3 owner, competing against GTA4 and MGS4 ain't gonna be...

Wow, I assumed that because I never had heard a peep about it that it just didn't exist... I wonder, does Nintendo even need to market their games or what? How do they get sales?!

I don't even know who makes the movies that I've watched in the past, I never give a damn. But this guy is hilarious outside of filmmaking at least.

The 360 for awhile after it came out was and still is worth the price. If you got one at release, you got a few years of good gaming with good games out of it. Now though, the PS3 is the better investment. Most people prefer to play newer games, and if it's new you want, we all already know this is the PS3's year. But if you can afford both, go ahead. Personally, I just can't really justify buying both consoles (I am a frugal spender though, so that has more to do with it than anything)....

What about that apple in Shea Stadium? Will they have to remove it?

Next stop: Webster's dictionary!

Why are there 1 or 2 disagrees for every anti-EA comment? Wonder if Pachter said this so that he could come here and disagree with everyone, and do it anonymously. You gotta admit: that's the type of thing only an EA employee would do.

Well, he played through it as fast as possible probably.. I prefer to enjoy my games, and I don't even recall if I even finished Vice City or San Andreas. So in a way I think it sucks for him really.

Does anyone really see the 360 getting any momentum ever again at this point? With the Blu-Ray selling point, the free online, and a games lineup finally worthy of the PlayStation brand, what can M$ do at this point besides bring out a new system?

We'll have to wait and see if it'll be "better" than COD4, but if it can at least differentiate itself from COD, it'll have a shot. This game is a wildcard for the PS3 I think. It's being developed by a different studio than the previous Socoms, isn't it?

Well, RRoD does seem to go hand in hand with the 360.

Lighten up people. It's only one day of the year. Or is the internet serious business?

6016d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Simply put, gaming is becoming more and more of a business, especially for the companies currently at the top like EA. They've got shareholders that want to make money. So whatever makes the money is what gets made. Of course, should EA piss off the gaming community, they might make less... unless the casual gamers don't realize they're getting screwed.

Personally, I don't think the casual gaming market is that interested in FPS's, so trying to market it the way EA is trying...

Wow, I would have considered getting this game but I think I'll stick with COD now. EA I don't know what you're thinking.

What I really want to know is if they're willing to try this, are there actually people that will buy it? Or are they just testing the market? I know I won't be buying this game now.

Well they made a breakout FPS game. When you make the best game for the most popular genre, the numbers will be monstrous. COD4 will be considered as revolutionary as GoldenEye, Doom, and Half-Life 1 have been.

Each Gen has a definitive FPS game, and COD4 is this one's.
