I don't understand why people would want to see this go through. Elimination of such a large competitor is not, not good for this industry period.
The combination of 14 failing( before the reboot - 14 Realm Reborn, and fan reception to 13 really hurt FF as a whole. Then 15 came with its incomplete half ass ending with later patches fixing and adding a bunch of story elements. So it's been a rocky road these last few miles. Clear pavement now tho.

13 didn't have anything really memorable. So for an RPG, it was a huge miss. 16 while I only played the demo, made me feel immersed in such a way..oh yeah I believe that type of immersion that comes to my mind is what an RPG is capable of.
If call of duty made me feel that immersion into a role in the story, I too would classify CoD as such, however THIS IS HYPOTHETICAL. In regards to discussion.
Sadly my friend, you not only will get disagrees, but many will not know what that kind of variety is like, because it will never again be so. Not on a console capacity. Where business monopolies are growing, and entrepreneurship is shrinking. That idea is all but a relic.
That's the crazy thing about impressions. Some people think this is great. Others not so much. I thought it was great. Me and my friend were just talking about how much we been missing it. It certainly feels alot like CoD. But also different. And that difference, for me, was enough to get me excited again about a first person shooter. That game mode where u push the payload, simular to overwatch, was the best!

What's stopping Microsoft from buying all these companies, and then these companies just leave and form another new studio? Lol. Endless cycle.. greed..dev cost goes up...so does consumer spending. Voila.
I swear every other month this article keeps coming out, I think by different writers/outlets, I would hope.. lol..but still, people be expecting red carpets for a motel price stay. Ps bangs almost every month, to each there own when it comes to what the games be and your joy out of em..but they always "bang" with very few months to be an exception but not the rule.

I would say being It's tenure and popularity of today, it should be considered 1 of the elite franchises of Sony.
Alot of us 30 age gamers grew up middle school/high school to the release of God of War. For its time then, it truly was a spectacle of single player experience.

As much as I would love to play mgs4 again, and I still hope to, I know playing it will bring back my old school Metal Gear Online days, and I miss that part of the game so, so much. 😢
