Hoping for a collectors edition console I guess, but damn. That's super wack.
Bad sci-fi exists.
You've never been doubtful of a game's quality before launch? Do I have some sort of super power that told me that Redfall was going to be trash? No. It looked like trash at E3, the trailers looked trash, and it was reviewed accordingly.
Everything they've shown us of Starfield makes it look like they've spent 5-6 years building a large sandbox with no sand in it.
Skyrim was jank af on launch. Fanboys and hype beasts rushed to get their reviews out and everyone wanted to shower it with praise. It's a great game outside of the jank, but 96? Not on launch bucko.
It's now been 12 years since skyrim came out. We expect a progressively more sophisticated RPG.
Man, does this game have any gameplay? Every day we're hearing about all of the things Starfield doesn't have.
PSP collection for sure.
Hire good writers. Write great fantasy stories. Put those into a JRPG with unique battle mechanics. Profit. Make me the CEO of Squaresoft.
Maybe FF16 isn't an RPG then..
Dirge of Cerberus. It's not an amazing game, but iykyk
Not sure when $500 console owners expected PC level performance out of games, but here we are.
This has always been the plan. Microsoft isn't allergic to money. I mean, their game development philosophy may suggest they are, but they obviously see a financial incentive to license out Bethesda games to Sony.
There's still no real way that devs can make a space game, with fully scaled and inhabited planets that you can interact with without cutting SOME corners. Think of how dense a game skyrim is with quests every 10 feet. You just can't do that in a space game. It will feel empty.
Just like every single game in existence, only about 10-20% of players will complete it.
I saw gameplay. What do you mean by no real gameplay? There were obvious in-engine clips shown in the trailer.
Y'all ever play Morrowind?
Ultimately, you're right. As gamers, we should be platform agnostic and go where the fun games are. Trouble is, some of us are still looking at $1000 PS5s and $500 Series X's and wondering why one is so much cheaper than the other. So we turn to games journalism to follow the development of the companies that are competing for our money and attention. We realize that one company is making quality single player and (good enough) live service games, and the other company is not really m...
The writing is on the wall. If MS isn't going to use their billions of dollars every quarter from their "content fund" to make actually exciting games on the scale that Sony makes them, they won't be able to compete indefinitely. This is why MS is so keen to acquire ABK. If they own CoD, they can tread water a little longer. It's crazy to me that people are in record numbers still buying CoD year after year.
Content. ˈkɑːntent. Noun. Def: How corpos refer to the thing they cynically made to milk you of your savings. Earnings call jargon is so incongruous with the nature of the industry of which he's a major figure. I've never thought patting yourself on the back, especially given his precarious position, was a good look.
Finally, a headline I can react to.
Tell them to kick rocks. Diablo is Diablo. Don't like Diablo? Why did you buy Diablo then?
