It's almost like the "space exploration sim" genre is a big scam and no game dev possesses the skill to create a hand crafted semi-infinite believable rendition of space. Corners have to be cut by necessity. Some people just don't want to spend $70-100 on a game that uses the Creation engine and cuts corners to trick you into thinking you're in space.
What were you expecting? A paradigm shifting space exploration game possessing 1000+ planets that were "hand crafted" and had unique interesting features that weren't copy pasted assets built on a 25 year old game engine that feels clunkier and clunkier with every passing release? Because if you're over the age of 30, your understanding of what Bethesda games are and their development practices should be well defined.
No one compares games the way these devs are describing. No one looked at The Witcher 3 and said "wow, I can't believe every RPG coming out doesn't have the same scope". This is a gigantic nothing burger of an issue and tantamount to all of these vocal developers admitting that they aren't as skilled at creating immersive worlds as Larian.
Cliffy B has always said his priority is to make money. Since he left Epic many moons ago, he's been struggling to convince a team to let him "make the next billion dollar franchise" or the next "Dark Souls of shooters". I don't necessarily trust that he's not just another corpo these days with atrocious buzz word utilization and just general lack of game industry awareness.
So never discuss it until people have somehow reached a telepathic saturation level of understanding of the issue, then.
1 of those copies was a metal gear survive.
Controversial take: Half-Life isn't a boomer shooter. While the Quake DNA is quite apparent, the levels of interactivity in Half-Life make it more than just a mindless run-and-gun. When I play Doom or Quake 2 I just want to press W, left click, and space bar intermittently.
Ironically it's not as easy as real life for these players.
1 and 2 are absolute hood classics.
The Bioware DNA is strong with Larian. They may be unrelated, but there was absolutely a genre passing of the torch. Black Isle made some of the best CRPGs of the 90s and 00s, now it's Larian's turn.
Controversial comments here based on the upvotes/downvotes. Seems like it's xbox owners definitely not exhibiting their buyer's remorse brigading the comments.
The show was poorly crafted for someone uninitiated to the story. It moved way too quickly and assumed you knew key details in order for them to have the time to do HBO-y scenes like with Ashley Johnson and an entire episode devoted to Frank. Show's still good, just not if you haven't played the game.
It's no longer a strand type game. Now Death Stranding 2 will be a death type game. When you play it, Sam dies and now you're Fragile.
Larian has been top of their class for a number of years now. Fantastic combination of leadership and talent. Don't sell out.
You know...you can just buy quake 2 for pc right?
8th gen CPU but ancient GPU?
No way. It's gonna set up the Big Wheel arc.
Suikoden continues to live on!
Huge butt hitbox, but Nicki is a midget in real life, so it'll balance itself out with shorter character model with lower ms.
Ahh yes a perfect game. Remind me to never take Gamingbolt's reviews seriously.
