GTA III was a HUGE hit for PS2 and really gave it massive market share. If players who want to play GTA IV go out to buy it and need a next-gen sytem, Halo 3 will be evrywhere, making a huge psychological impact on casual gamers who have not already pledged allegiance to one system or another.
And if MS drops the price of the 360, it'll be evben easier for un-aligned gamers to make the 360 decision.

If the games blows, it won't matter. If the graphics are not as good as Gears or RfoM, it doesn't matter. The game will sell itself.

Too late for the holiday season, too early for the 08 holiday season.
PS3 has big problems. These titles needed to be ready to go this fall to make sure 360 didn't own 3 holidays in a row.

Exactly what I've been saying, you can't further cut the price on a product you are already taking a bloodbath on.
They need titles and licensing fees to buoy their losses on the hardware. With the attach rate so low, this is a battle that Sony can't fight this way forever.

Its 4 months from final build. And frankly it doesn't matter if the graphics are less, the gameplay will be far superior, and they will still sell 6 million copies. End of story. Unfortunately, its sales numbers will suffer immeasurably by competing with Halo 3 for the Holiday shooter market. Since Sony fanboys have made it clear they are far too intellectual for shooters like H3, Gears, and others, it will likely suffer among "hardcore" Sony droids who will be too busy waiting, and waiting, and waiting for MGS4 and FFXIII.

I may be willing to concede that the PS3 is more powerful than the 360. I might be willing to concede that Blu-Ray will win the format wars. The only things that those concessions prove is that the PS3 is a monster machine.

While countless players play Halo simply for its multi-player awesomeness, an equal number of players froth at the mouth for the stimulating and engaging single player. Players who enjoy that aspect will likely shell out at least the $299 to see how the chief finishes the fight.

The one thing that is CONSTANTLY overlooked in these “failure” claims is how the owner treated the unit.
If a user put their 360 in an A/V cabinet with a door and closed it and let the unit cook and then warped the board, that’s not MS’s fault. That’s a retarded user problem.
If a user puts their xbox on an open counter and it stops working, then there is a real complaint.

Put up a "Culture" tab and category that things that appeal to gamers can be placed. I wouldn't otherwise see these clips and enjoyed them, and a category for gamer cuture still makes sense here at N4G.
