"Go back"? How do they have trouble "going back" to other MMOs when this one isn't even out yet? Or maybe its so bad they are just finished with the MMO genre as a whole and decide to just play Skyrim after release for a few hundred hours instead.
Locking out single player campaign content to first purchasers only is a real super classy move. Follow the auto industry model and start buying and selling your own used games. Don't tax gamers because you can't think of a good way to do that.
I was planning on renting this one, but not if I'm locked out of parts of the main campaign. I don't mind missing Catwoman in the challenges and such, but parts of the main campaign too?
There are too many other good games to play right now. I'm not going to support locking out main campaign content of any game with Online Passes and such. Its one thing to support dedicated servers and want to recoup some of the long-term costs for that. It's another thing...

This is the reason I had to return Rage for PS3. The texture pop, stuttering, and flickering really made me ill after about 30-45 minutes. I tried keeping the lights on, and that helped so I had a background and walls for reference, but it only delayed the motion sickness. I was able to plat Borderlands with no issues, so it's not just the FPS style of game.

I played it more than I played Rage. At least Brink's textures load properly. I returned Rage, and I still have Brink. I'm more focused on other games right now (Ico/SotC and Disgaea 4), but if I wanted a shooter game I'd say its worth $10. Nothing wrong with a shotgun and a face painted like the Union Jack for a little fun.
I started gaming back on the Atari 2600 and our trophies were patches from Activision and Polaroids of high scores. In my school the patches from Activision games were status symbols. These days I've migrated to digital trophies on PSN, but that feeling of accomplishment is still there, and sometimes mixed with a little nostalgia (like getting trophies on Altered Beast!) for a happy feeling cocktail.
The notification sound on my phone is the PSN trophy noise as well. ...

Actually I got the plat on Borderlands with no issues. Not sure why Rage gave me problems. I even turned X-Y sensitivity way down so I turned slower, no luck. I just told amazon what was wrong currently and that Bethesda said they were focused on PC right now, so no idea when a console patch may arrive. If they had said, "A PS3 patch will be out in a week or two" - I could have waited. I said I wasn't angry, just disappointed and I would definitely pick another game instead....

Texture pop on the PS3 version of Rage was theh reason I've returned it. I emailed Bethesda asking about a patch for PS3 to fix the texture pop, but they said currently their are focused on fixing the PC issues. No patch = returned.

XboX360 was the lead platform, and it was ported to PS3 and PC. I'm playing on PS3 and I still get a lot of texture pop when i'm in the outdoor areas on foot. Its less than what PC folks are experiencing, but still annoying.
I thought it was odd that I saw no texture pop during vehicle races, just outdoors and on foot.
Actually, it is not fine on Nvidia cards. A quick browse on their blog and forums confirms this. They have a beta driver available right now and are still working to improve the PC issues as we speak.
There's still a good bit of texture pop in outdoor areas in the PS3 version. It's not enough to avoid the game, but I can't play it longer than 45 min or so before I have to stop. I hope there's a console patch incoming to fix the issue.
I think I got pulled into other games mainly. I believe at that that point I was still hunting down trophies for the Borderlands platinum.
Then they updated Street Fighter 4 to arcade edition. This year its been games like Deus Ex and Disgaea 4 chewing up all my time.
I stopped playing before I got the "S" license or finishing the last tier and a half of races. Maybe I'll suck less at the go-karts this time around.
This will definitely get me to go back to GT5.
Congratulations on missing the point. I understand the intent of the statement, but it is meaningless because the game is in beta. The testers are selected from a highly interested and motivated group of applicants who have above minimum PC specs. They also are not paying for access to TOR.
