Am I the only one that thinks the nx is not what we think it is?
What Transporter is saying is that it's not true backwards compatibility because it lacks the ability to play all 360 games natively. True backwards compatibility would entail the hardware itself running a previous generations games with no emulation(I.e. Ps2 playing ps1 games, early ps3's playing ps2 games, wii playing gc, and wii u playing wii). XB1 doesn't natively support 360 playback. What XB1 does is no different than you downloading a snes emulator on your pc.
I remember having BleemCast back in the day and it worked great. I only played a few games, but they ran better and looked a bit smoother than they did natively on the ps1
Actually, there was a story on here not too long ago about how mucrosoft was doing a goldeneye xbla game like they did with banjo and perfect dark, and nintendo stepped in to stop them. Seemed back then like activision was fine with it.
Tony hawk was one of my favorite games. hell I bought 2 on ps1, dreamcast and xbox it was so good. I really wish Activision would just go back to the original formula. Exact gameplay from THPS2/3, with current graphics. Make the stages bigger, maybe add in extra timing options so we can have 2, 5 or even 10 minute runs, and add in a challenge and xp based leveling system similar to CoD. Make multiplayer timed runs where score and challenges are what determines the victor, even have team based...
I'm thankful for being blessed with my children, and especially thankful they all like video games so I didn't have to trade them in(the kids, not the games lol).
Launch it with a Zelda, a Metroid, and a Mario. Also, make it powerful. Like those rumored specs fron last year. What was it, like 4.6tflops and 4gb of ddr4 ram? With those specs you'll at least get third party support in the form of ports of xb1 and ps4 games. Launch with the games I listed and you'll see a sales burst that will convince third parties you're worth coding special stuff for. Then you just have to hope Sony and Microsoft are ready to sit on xb1 and ps4 for a few mor...
I commented on the digital foundry link yesterday wondering if the hybrid drive of the elite could fix the issues, all I got was a bunch of disagrees. Now it turns out a better drive does indeed improve performance. So disagree all you want, I was right lol
I can't help but wonder if some of the frame drops they say seem to be due to the x1's hdd will be less apparent to those that grab the Elite.
The Giant is a remake of Der Reise
I can see it for media purposes, but no way could it be done for games. unfair to the 25+ million existing users. A ps4 that supports the new UHD Blu Rays would get bought for my house though.
Was on round 31 of zombies on Carrier, trying the easter egg and this happened to me. Best game I had on that map and none of it counted. I was upset to say the least.
2016 launch is still very possible. Just handing out dev kits doesn't mean companies are just now making games for it. Console makers have conversations with game developers long before kits go out giving a baseline of power for the upcoming console. Then developers use similar spec computers to make games until the real kits are in their hands. The final product usually ends up stronger than the initial conversations suggested, which is why you see a huge jump in quality from launch game...
Legend of Dragoon
Honestly I think both consoles would be served well to lock in at 900p on all games. The gpu resourses saved from that 180p drop could keep these games impressing for a few years instead of making compromises to the graphics to reach 1080.
Ps4 @ $349, xb1 @ $299..... Wii U DISCONTINUED lol.
I buy so many games I barely get around to playing them these days. And honestly I prefer my Xbox One over my PS4, mainly because I prefer live, the ui and most of my friends game on Xbox. But Tales of Zestria is the most exciting game of the year for me. We need more tales games, and some more traditional jrpg's. Feel like it's been a decade since the laat AAA JRPG came out.
Well it's still raining throughout the race so they shouldn't dry up, and I could be mistaken but I'm fairly certain they said the puddles get bigger over the course of the race.
Preordered the ultimate version, kinda pissed to see people online with it before me tho. But whatever, two more days and I get football and forza back in my life!
Ok, so follow my logic for a sec.
maybe I'm crazy but I saw the patent that showed a box capable of taking power from other connected boxes(i.e. The new console drawing power from a connected wii u or some sort of upgrade box), and I heard the projected sales of 20 million units by the end of 2016.
Now a, consoles don't sell that many units in six months(oct-march), so even if they mean fiscal 2016 that's absurd. And b, as you said, they need this to be ...
