Mass Effect 1 has something this game doesn't have. It's distinctive in general. Nothing feels like that first game.
Also, I only just noticed this, but the blinking is dreadful as well.
I have tried about ten times now to play through DAI with all the DLC again (got it for cheap) and I just can't do it. It's boring and contrived and the combat is, in my honest opinion, almost universally bad. It feels dull and detached whatever class you play. I found myself holding it to a higher standard due to some of its newer competition, and it just doesn't compete. To be fair, the same could be said about 2 which released at around the same time as TW2 and looked piss poor...
Apparently we are supposed to accept any old crap and just buy it regardless. I take issue with that because I expect a game to earn my money. And with the quality titles that have come out so far this year, this mess simply isn't good enough. And I refuse to suck the D of Bioware just because I love some of their past games. And when I say past, the last good game they made imo was ME2. And a lot of that was down to memorable characters.
Every game since then has been ...
Honestly, I would play that, it sounds interesting.
A hardcore christian vigilante handing out justice in gods name. You could go to really dark places with that. Like, say he gets married to the woman he loves, and then she is killed so he starts to question his faith and goes on a downward spiral of sin and violence.
Obviously, something like that would never get made in this climate.
Hahahahaha. Noot noot mf'ers.
They also turn in such an unnatural to face someone else if they are going to talk to them because they are incapable of using their necks. I was going to say it is almost comical but scratch that. It is definitely comical. A real joke. I found myself laughing at it whilst watching someone play it earlier. It is a 'janky' mess. Subpar in almost every area. And the combat is honestly nothing special. You can just jump around a bit now (fun for a few minutes). The idiotic AI though just...
What ever happened to that multiplayer game they made? Did that die? It was fighting demons or something.
I think they made the characters ugly because they are bad at character modelling and animation. You can tell this is a lot of inexperienced people coming together to make a game.
What about RPG's featuring sex dolls? Which is what all of the 'female' humans look like.
And why are they all wearing bright pink lip gloss, and enough blush to make you think that Homer Simpson's makeup shotgun goes into production in the far future.
The thing is, 10 years ago Bioware had some of the best talent in the entire industry behind them. That is no longer the case so I am not entirely surprised by this. All of the people responsible for the likes of KOTOR, Jade Empire, DAO, Mass Effect 1 and 2, are all gone now.
They all left over the last decade or so Quent. Not kidding. There is hardly any of the old Bioware talent around anymore, and it really shows.
The second Drew Karpyshyn left it was all downhill from there.
Westwood. Criterion. Bioware. How many more studios will EA kill. The fact that they are making Bioware make action games now should say it all. RIP Bioware. You used to be something special. Remember Jade Empire. God, that was an excellent game. I wouldn't want this Bioware anywhere near a sequel.
And I have now witnessed the opening of this game for myself (only played about 30 minutes mind you) being played on a 980ti. One thing that is immediately noticeable. When ...
When it is cheap. Not for 44.99.
It's been 5 years. That is why. A lot of games have released since ME3.
Well, I am sure someone out there has a gas giant fetish.
I am sorry Krypt, but Horizon has a very good story drawing on some high concept science fiction themes, In fact, I would say its story and combat are actually better than its visuals (which are varied and terrific).
Can't fix bad writing with a patch. This games problems seem to be routed deep, and it's weaknesses seem to be what Mass Effect was previously good at (story/characters/universe building). This honestly seems like a Mass Effect game in name alone.
It basically looks and feels like it was designed 5 years ago and took the committee approach to what should be in the game. 'We need a ship, like The Normandy, we'll call it... The Tempest'. Dragon Age Inquis...
Everything is very bland.
I am watching Giant Bomb stream it. It isn't looking great. The main party character models are bad, so I have no idea what the npc character models are. They look abysmal.
I watched someone play it for a few hours earlier (I played about 30 minutes) and she and myself feel the same way. It is shoddy work. We noticed some dreadful things with the way textures will load in and out. You go into a building at one point with papers all over the floor and when you aim down a scope they all flicker in and out of existence or just disappear entirely. And the kicker for me was aiming down a scope, and when I was done killing, the main characters armour textures had to l...
