"The very first Gears of War game cost $12 million to develop, and it made about $100 million in revenue." Tim Sweeney
My gosh how times have changed with game budgets. I think I read somewhere that GTA5 cost about the same to make as Spiderman 2 but that game was made along time ago.
Not my type of game but figured it might end up on gamepass as it was released so long after PC and ps5. Most people who wanted this game would of already bought it on PC and Ps5 when it first released.
I could be wrong but it looks kinda cell shaded
I think releasing a pro console version half way through the generation is pointless. If you want a more powerful version release it launch of the generation with the standard console that way you got a decent length of support. Sure it will be expensive at first but the price should come down over time.
So are they just trying to demonstrate their facial technology here?
Wouldn't the matrix demo give you an idea of what the difference between series s and x will be in a game like this?
Series s 720p
Series X 1440p
I thought Sony were getting Bungie to oversee their upcoming multiplayer games, something like 12 games
No gameplay...
I'm pretty sure Microsoft already announced they are brining Banjo to the Nintendo store.
Counter strike 2 does the same thing
Worst case scenario you will have to subscribe to EA if you want to play their games, subscribe to Sony to play their games and subscribe to Microsoft to play their games etc etc. So it will be like streaming services atm where your subscribing to multiple services as the content you want is not all on the one streaming service.
I would of preferred they remaster the original in a new engine with better graphics. If they wanted to change the game and make it so different why not call it something else rather then destroy a really good ip.
I guess everyone can live happily ever after now that they are all part of Xbox community and if you don't play any of the games xbox own they will be buying those games you do play next 😆
Maybe they will buy AMD next that way not only are Playstation fans part of the xbox community they will also be playing on xbox hardware 👀
I'd guess Switch 2 will get a port of the Xbox Series s version games but further downgraded.
Gears of war was great but maybe it's time to try something new and maybe come back to Gears of war a few games later, maybe next generation.
Microsoft just spent $69 billion on a publisher who's content will be on gamepass.
Wow. That is a decent size reduction.
I think Sony and Microsoft are trying to do different things. If Microsoft wants to make a hugely successful subscription service they need regular new titles every month to keep people interested and on the service.
Sony isn't as fully invested in subscription service like Microsoft. Sony only needs a really good new release 1st party title every 4 months to keep people interested in the console and let the third parties fill in the other months.
I'm looking forward to this game as I haven't played a 2D Mario game since Super Mario Wii U, which I had a great time playing with my son. I'm looking forward to the whole family playing this Mario adventure together.
"A funny thing happened in the console market, though. Budgets were being bid up. The first Gears of War cost $12 million for us to make. And it made us $100 million in profit. So that was awesome," Sweeney said. "But by Gears of War: Judgment, the game cost about $60 million to build, and made about $100 million still."
Sweeney previously said that Gears of War 3's budget was around four or five times as much as the first game, so about $48 million-...
