You didn't play the game and didn't give it time to all sink in. There are very few instances in the game that don't add up. And even those...they do if you think about it.
Like I stated above, reviewers probably had beaten the game and started a review before the patch was even released. The patch was talked about on the 21st and the game came out 2 days later. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.
I think its because the reviewers got the game before the patch came out and mostly likely never even downloaded the patch. It came out like the day of release and most reviewers probably beat the game a few days before.
Started the game on Wednesday morning and just now finished it. Its really up to you weather or not to buy or rent it. I think its a masterpiece. It obviously is very different from a traditional game, but that's why I love it so much. You probably won't really want to play the whole thing through more than twice, but there is chapter select to finish off trophies and see how things would have played out differently.

Just put up a hell of a fight last night against SVER. Raven was defending on Domination and we ended up winning by the skin of our teeth. 30 more seconds in the game and they would have caused enough damage to win. INTENSE!

I don't quite understand the negatives.
* Can be tough to get a command post - What is he talking about? Like, capturing a command post? or getting a command position?
* Some technical awkwardness - This one I some what understand. I always thought the holding of the gun looked pretty awkward. Was there anything else?
* Occasional connectivity issues. - Meh, it must be pretty rare. I've played close to 30 or 40 matches and never really experienced...

Mostly positive from Eurogamer gives me high hopes for this game. Can't decide if I will pick it up on launch or wait for any bugs to be ironed out. After Slant Six's SOCOM fiasco, I can imagine there will be some issues.

This isn't another shooter, its freaking SOCOM!! Better than Call of Duty, Killzone 2, Battlefield, Halo, etc. SO FREAKING EXCITED that this was the surprise game. And its coming out this year!!
