I was pretty confident lol, it's no harder than flipping a switch really seeing how similar the architecture on both consoles are.
@Kayant
2133mhz is shit for video memory, hence the eSRAM, problem is; the eSRAM is only 32mb which is too small to act as a frambuffer for 1080p with AA in modern graphics engines.
@badkolo
Forza does not "kills it in the gfx department". It's very barren in all honesty. It uses pre-baked lighting, lack day/night cycle and the aliasing is just terrible to mention a few things that is less than impressive about Forza, I'm not saying it looks super bad or anything, it just lacks some things you expect from a cutting edge racer.
@B-radical
Yes we have, and Forza is the only 1080p title announced, all other announced resol...
I think EA is pissing themselves now to be honest. They thought MS would be the big shot and winner this upcoming gen, but since the reveals and E3 I'm sure they're kicking themselves for betting on the wrong horse. They had probably been more pleasing towards MS and given Sony the cold hand alot, they're in total ass kissing mode on Sony now. I wouldn't be surprised if we heard within a year or so that "Sony and EA have an unprecedented relationship" or something of...
DDR3 is great for a desktop environment. But looking at PCs, have you seen any Graphic Cards use the DDR3 system memory? Or do they all tend to have 1-4GB of onboard dedicated GPU memory GDDR5 solutions?! Ye, DDR3 isn't really up to snuff for a GPU, hence MS went with an eSRAM to try to compensate, but it's still just that - a compensation.
I assume you're talking about latency? First of all; the GDDR5 latency's hit on CPU performance is greatly overstated, it simply isn't true. You can't push the eSRAM+DDR3 in Xbox Ones favour, it was by all logic a cop out to get away with a cheaper memory solution, if the Xbox One wouldn't had included Kinect MS would've gone with the GDDR5 as well. Remember that these machines are made to play games, a faster vram is a hundred times more important than to cater the CP...
The lower resolution I'm afraid is very much set in stone. The eSRAM on the Xbox One simply isn't big enough to push 1080p with any kind of AA solution or any other kinds of eyecandy. It's why Forza being 1080p is so lacklusting in all other departments.
We do actually see it in launch games.. All PS4 titles with confirmed resolution is at 1080p. Xbox One only got 1 game as far as I know (Forza), and for that to even be possible they have no AA solution, pre-baked lighting, no day/night cycles and so on, not very impressive.
It's pretty obvious the Xbox One version of Ghost does not render in 1080p. All that aside who the hell would call Cod Ghost graphics "fantastic" it looks terrible.
Kinda makes no sense. What has changed lol? the 9% upclock isn't relevant in any way, I honestly don't get why they did it seeing how diminished the return is. Anyway it doesn't explain how a 9% cpu upclock can fill the 50% GPU gap lol
The engine really is shitty. Showcasing the game on PS4 seems pretty obvious now with rumours that the Xbox One version is in 720p (which frankly is shocking that the X1 can't even push this crap to 1080p). This really doesn't bode well for MS, the eSRAM solution was a huge oversight which will bite them in the ass, it's just not big enough to push through 1080p with AA solution in place.
There are no cancelled games on the PS4. Pretty sure he meant you know, making an awful product for gamers, you know; that problem.. the one MS currently have.
What kind of silliness is this? I grew up with Nintendo consoles that doesn't mean I'll exclusively buy them. When PS1 came out my dad bought that for me cause he thought it was a better value with games being cheaper for instance and also of course the stellar new games. Brand loyalty is stupid. The PS4 will lead in the US for the simple fact that it is cheaper - and remarkably a more powerful machine as well.
Are you kidding? Sony knows Europe is Playstation land and they cater to us even more than the Americans in most cases. Just look at the PS+ for instance, Europe is ahead of the US there.
Only reason inferior hardware has won in the past is price. This time around it's kinda weird seeing how the most powerful console on the market will be the cheapest one (if you disregard the Wii U which I do in this comparison mainly due to it lacking in third party support)
Sure they are, but one will sell less due to less units produced.
That is a pretty obvious fact for anyone who's not blind, deaf and mentally challenged. Xbox One can't simply have as many pre-orders launching in fewer countries. PS4 probably even got the US. I can't believe people won't believe MS wasn't ready, cause it kinda speaks for itself no?!
In a world where Live TV becomes less and less important how is that an advantage to the Xbox One? At least Sony is talking to IPTV providers.
Doesn't really say anything, it's a relative, what isn't more powerful than a 360 or ps3 today?
So you like when people tell you what you should like? Instead of deciding for yourself? Well then I guess you'll love the Xbox One. Sony doesn't think you're an idiot!
