GP has shown to not cannibalize sales especially when you factor in PS. If GP was so enticing then everyone would have GP and ignore buying it on PS which they haven't. Clair has over 2 million sales and Oblivion also has over 2 million. AA games don't usually get bought as ppl mostly go that game. Again there's also different store fronts like Steam also and PC guys aren't gonna switch to play on GP.
It's possible they can either create a hurdle like PSN sign up requirements. Give a reason for blocking their games in certain regions. Depends how many Ppl on xbox through steam buy the game. That's just it, say if large amounts of ppl buy PS games on it I have a tough time seeing reasons to pull games away if they're making money and, most importantly, if their console sales aren't at risk. Which I have a very hard time seeing because PS games hit PC about a year or so later...
OK I gotcha. That makes sense.
Wait I thought they cancelled a game? Or did they announce another project?
https://wccftech.com/naught...
The bigger mistake imo is not having them do any SP projects. Just all LS stuff.
Also want to clear up some misinformation on my part about Marathon. It wasn't due to creative differences as to why Jade left it was due to early internal Play tests were reportedly not received very well. Which probably prompted her to leave. My fault on that.
Nope, just a pure greed move made by Nintendo and Xbox.
I believe it's somewhere around there. Cod is 700m$ to make. I think GTA could be around there if not more. The insane level of detail in the trailer says it all.
Yeah I believe it's around there personally.
"Fanboy? You talking about me, or yourself?"
What's are you talking about how am I a fanboy? Those alt counts will be gone nobody will see them anyway.
I wouldn't call Marathon a heavy hitter and Yotei yes definitely. However they do have DS2 I just feel like there should be more. We all know why there isn't more.
They only have two LS HD as I mentioned and I totally forgot about Grand Turismo. Only 2 While cance...
We don't have the details but I wanna call out Jade Raymond. Once a pioneer and a leader in gaming hasn't captured the magic since AC. She did Watch Dogs and helped Splinter Cell Black List. All her best games were in Ubisoft. Yet she left them, went and formed and created EA Motive. Left that and joined Google's Stadia. To be fair they were crumbling and crumbing fast so She left that sinking ship. Now she formed Haven Studios and got picked up by Sony now she leaves yet again. ...
It might come out it might not. Sony said they're still pushing the project. That's a good thing. Even if it does come out will it be any good? There's too many questions and hurdles surrounding the LS.
Bigger question when are we gonna see it? Will they have a PS showcase or State Of Play? Grubb said Sony was debating whether to have a showcase, SOP or anything.
I sure hope they have a showcase or something in the coming weeks. I want Sony fi...
Can you stop the fanboying for 2 seconds? Seriously this deflecting and ignoring everything that's going on with Sony's first party the past few years is frustrating and ignorant. You know there's others who have a PS also and want Sony's best like we use to get right? Stop trying to ruin it for everyone else with side steps. Not this BS deflecting that you ppl constantly do.
Besides HD what other LS game thrived so far? Has Herman made good buissness choi...
Yeah hate to break it to you Sony but I think they need to shelve their LS efforts almost all together. They formed LFG ex Bungie guys and making another LS but I don't have much hope for it anymore. Marathon is quickly getting overshadowed by Arch Raiders, We all know what happened to Concord.
Only solution I can think of is have 3rd party like a Arrowhead make them a LS game. Speaking of AH their next project is completely funded by them so it won't be from them....
Uh no, they're not sorry and desperate like the competition. They're fine where they're at.
No it's just like 360 where they had no games yet ppl still bought it because they sold ppl on the games early on that gen the fans were locked in and invested. They were riding the good will and was dubbed the shooter, racer box. The games dried up and they never recovered from it which hurt them in the long run. Same here with PS they still make the big bucks because they had games early on and the fans locked in and will continue to lock in for a little while longer despite lacking in ...
"With Xbox consoles collapsing and no more Xbox exclusives, first party is way less important."
Absolutely not. If that was the case then Nintendo would put Mario on Sega Genesis and Sonic on Super Nintendo. I know things are way different 30+ years later but not much has really changed in terms of exclusives and their impact on hardware. Especially early in the console life cycle.
Sony made all the money this quarter handover fist. Profits isn...
Also want to point out Sony CFO Lin Tao talks about Changes within SIE. She talks about switching console Unit sells to "MAU" and "engagement" which further drives profitability. Something that Jim Ryan mentioned 4, 5 years ago I guess they're gonna push those metrics or consider those metrics again.
Of course Tariffs could possibly up the price.
This is exactly what happened to Xbox year's ago. They had no first party and started seeing decline in 1st party sales, which effected their third party games which eventually effected their console sales. A slow decline across the board.
Calm down PS fans I'm not saying PS is becoming like old Xbox. I'm showing examples of the importance of first party output. Look how Xbox finally has compelling first party and things are on a up swing(despite years going o...
Of course we haven't seen or heard anything about the game for awhile now.
He even "clarified" which is basically him backtracking.
Sure there some devs might be displeased but a large amount clearly aren't. That's money after all.
