Physical format (like Blu-ray) will actually be negatively affected.

A big part of the stimulus spending is to upgrade the broadband infrastructure in the United States, so the broadband and high-speed connection becomes widely and cheaply available all over the US. When that happens, widespread digital download will become a reality -- and that is not going to be good for Sony and Blu-ray.

Of course, this is something that's unexpected. The Republicans have been u...

Halo 3 is more than a year old. That's a long time in the video game industry. It's an old game already.

Plus StarCraft and Diablo.

StarCraft II and Diablo III are coming in the near future.

If you haven't already, consider buying stocks in Acti-Blizz.

Because we know Mass Effect 2 will be on the PC, and the PC version will be the superior version, way way better than the PS3 version (just like the PC version will be far superior to the Xbox 360 version.)

That has always been BioWare's pattern: Both the PC versions of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire are far superior to the Xbox version, and the PC version of Mass Effect is far superior to the Xbox 360 version.

BioWare is just like Valve. Th...

People go to Metacritic to look for CRITIC review scores.

No one gives a damn about "user" (i.e., fanboys) review scores.

Not when we have a worldwide recession going on, and the PS3 will remain to be the most expensive console of the three. The recession will last through 2009; and after that, we will either get a recovery or *gasp* a depression.

In an economic downturn, people are very price sensitive. Right now, having a better game library is not even that important when people are losing their jobs, savings, investments and money. Having a low entry price tag is. The PS3 is at at severe d...

The only two games from that list that interest me are Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2 -- and both games will be available on the PC, enhanced and improved, better than the Xbox 360 version.

I'm certain that Alan Wake will NOT be available for the PS3, given that Microsoft will be the publisher. However, Mass Effect 2 will probably (but unlikely) to show up on the PS3. It really depends on the contractual agreement between Microsoft and BioWare. Now that BioWare has announced thei...

Lair demos and previews prior to its disastrous release also looked darn great.

Of course, we all know how that one turned out.

I don't care much for Halo. But I just know that Killzone's studio, Guerrilla Games, just have never made a good game before. Killzone: Liberation was decent at best.

Again, the previews of Killzone 1 also looked great prior to the game's release. That's how it got so hyped in the first place. And then the game came out... ...

Killzone was not even a good game. Like Killzone 2, Killzone was overhyped for having pretty graphics. But when the game came out, it turned out to be mostly a disappointment.

The developer of Killzone series, Guerilla, has NEVER made a good game.

So what makes you think Killzone 2 will even be a good game? Right now, what it has is HYPE. However, based on the developer and series' track record, it's a safe bet to say that the game will not live up to the hype. ...

StarCraft II will be three separate games. It will be a trilogy. Each game in the trilogy will be released and sold separately. Each game can be played separately on its own; in addition, the games also complement each other as expansion.

The first game will be called StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The second game is Heart of the Swarm. The last and final game is the Legacy of the Void

That's why StarCraft II is likely to arrive earlier than you think.

StarCraft II (i.e., South Korea's unofficial state religion. LOL.)

Diablo III

Both from Blizzard, and both on PC.

The only games I wanted from Xbox 360 were BioWare exclusives like Mass Effect 2, but I know I will be able to play it on the PC. To add to the insult (to Xbox 360,) the PC version of Mass Effect is superior to the Xbox 360 version -- so we know the PC version of Mass Effect 2 will also be the superior version.

Now that BioWare is no longer an exclusive studio for Microsoft, there is no reason for me to stick with Xbox. I'm skipping the next generation of Xbox. I'll just play ...

So, Oblivion, Mass Effect, Fable 2 and Fallout 3 don't count as RPGs!?!

They *are* RPGs.

For all your Japanophile out there: AMERICANS invented the RPGs, as well as cRPGs and vRPGs. Don't you ever forget about that.

For this generation, RPGs like Oblivion and Fallout 3 have sold much better than anything Japan has put out. And they are multiplatform RPGs that are available on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 -- and the 360 version has sold much better than t...

who is certainly no friend of Microsoft.

This WSJ article is aimed at investors (i.e., mature adults.) It is just pointing out that the PS3 isn't doing so well financially -- it *is* the most-respected financial newspapers in the world. Its intention is not to placate the immature mindless teenage PS3 fanboys who are clogging N4G. The WSJ is not part of the mindless fanboy war and could care less about how the mindless Sony fanboys would react to the facts it's reporting. <...

What's the point off adding the useless DVD support to the Wii? I wouldn't bother.

We have been in a worldwide recession, which will only get worse in 2009. I've just read another news article that predicts that the US housing prices will fall another 20 to 30 percent in 2009.

Sony has the most expensive "entry price" for its console. The recession and high entry price for the PS3 have definitely impacted PS3 sales in 2008, and they will continue to impact PS3 sales in 2009.

Unless Sony is willing to cut the entry prices of the PS3, exp...

You shouldn't need VGChartz or NPD to tell you that. Right now it's market common sense that Nintendo is pwning Sony and Microsoft with the Wii and DSi.

You're just a fanboy in some serious denial if you refuse to accept that Nintendo is pawning Sony and Microsoft in sales by dismissing VGChartz. Even if you don't believe in VGChartz numbers, you can't deny that the Wii has been outselling the PS3 and 360, combined, many times over.
