Has no real label, and a switch up top to pick the game.

I paid $1200 for it when I got it.

The Gold one... Man I would have loved to have that.

I was expecting a game more like the first, massive amounts of flying, air to air carnage, instead it looks like...

...that.

Pure, bull stubborness.

Anyone remember when MS decided to put MS Office on the PC and stop making it for Mac? Analysts predicted disaster.

When Microsoft decided to stop using the Tandy for development and went to IBM PCs? Analysts predicted disaster.

When Microsoft was sued by the United States for monopolistic practices for including IE and WMP in Windows? Analysts predicted disaster.

Microsoft has resources at it's disposal that ...

Sony just had a console launch and a few weeks to sell more. 800K does not seem unreasonable. It does seem a bit misleading, since 70% or so of the sales are launch day, but the numbers are more than likely accurate.

But what about those of us that simply played both franchises and prefer one over the other?

Do not assume that because I like Forza better I dislike Gran Turismo. If anything I want GT5 and Forza both to do well, because more competition for both means both will be better in the long run.

Gran Turismo on PSX was amazing. Real cars, lots of used stuff, I played it so much I killed 2 PlayStations.
Gran Turismo 2 was great, expanded the Sim mode a lot, and added a kickass soundtrack and tightened up the control. I played that one quite a lot as well.
When I got Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec, I was pissed off. The Sim mode was for crap, the used cars were nowhere to be found, and all they seemed to be worried about was making it look pretty. the gameplay hadn't improved a wh...

Good job with keeping current...

The extra attention the PS3 is getting is to optimize for the motion sensing capabilities to be worked in.

I believe the PS3 may have some exclusive content as well, cars or a track or something, but that's just rumor.

Apologies to any offended.

Let's take Oblivion. Launch title for the 360, and a damn near perfect port to the PS3.

Or is it?

The PS3 has a lack of video memory and usable processing memory, something Oblivion swaps in between at a very high rate in general gameplay in the 360 version.

This is why the 360 version is playable off of a disc alone, and the PS3 version not only cuts some draw distance, but has to install 95% of the game to the hard drive. Check it, the game is ba...

Sorry, but if any piece of graphic data needs say, 300 MB of RAM, the PS3 is out of luck. And you can have the fattest pipe in the world, but does it compare to having integrated EDRAM ready for swap?

I think not.

I wonder how many people have the affected hardware, and how much it will cost to fix for the companies involved.

The way it's configured makes the data have to be broken up into smaller pieces for the limited RAM and SPU to handle.

The Cell is not a 'supercomputer'. It's just a cheap HT cpu set, that's prone to burnout.

Unified memory and a more direct core and a video card that can actually handle DX9c would be a much more logical choice in my opinion, but some people don't realize that the Cell is not a magical device that makes everything work. It's just a CPU. A decent...

I think he meant to confirm that he was aware of people complaining, and they were investigating the matter.

Poor wording on the title.

Punctuation, grammar, spelling. These three things are key if you don't want to look like a blathering idiot.

And currently, the PS3 has done nothing, repeat nothing, that the 360 isn't capable of, save waste extra disc space on textures and sounds because of some foolish notion against using mathmatically lossless compression codecs.
