Left 4 Dead - seriously, the 10.00$ downloadable title Zombie Apacolypse is better than these games. L4D2 is nothing more than slapping a new coat of paint on a clunker.
Max Payne - People always praise these games, I could never get more than 1/2 way through them because they were so repetitively boring. And the story was as juvenile as can be, no matter how well illustrated those comic book images were.
We all know the answer to this question. No, achievements don't ruin games. If the game is good enough, acheivements won't make a difference. You'll play it long after you unlock everything.
However, if the game is terrible, sometimes acheivements are the only thing that can make them playable. Sadly, this is often the case.
A game based on QTE's is a bold premise, but they do nothing interesting with it. If your idea of having fun in a video game is making a bunch of juvenille controller motions while you watch your character perform some kind of mundane, scripted action. Oooh, can't wait til level five when I get to comb my hair and eat a corndog!
Does it matter how compelling the storyline is if the gameplay is mind numbingly boring? Why not just watch a movie instead of play a game? Heavy Rain ...
That R* has been working on Agent longer than any other title they've ever made before. I wouldn't be surprised if the title winds up one the next Xbox, when it comes in a few years. I expect big things from Agent.
If anything, you'd think hardcore gamers would like the fact that it deviates from the storyline, that way it will be a more fresh experience. It gives them more incentive to play the game, even if they've read the novel its based off of.
I do hope they fix the spacejumping though, and they should have totally canned those little gumba guys - what purpose do they serve again?
Considering Bungie's track record, I think a healthy dose of skepticism is warranted. It seems as if they are now finally innovating the series because they have to, not because they ever wanted to.
Visual quality is overrated. After awhile, when you're eyes become trained to it, it stops being impressive.
Just like Cameron's Avatar, the effects weren't enough to keep the movie from being mediocre. And if Avatar is any kind of indication, 3-D is still in a rough state. I don't think its advanced enough yet to warrant throwing down all kinds of dough to get.
Although I would like to see a 3-D driving game. That's probably the genre that stands to win the most...
agent?
even if it does have better graphics(which it doesn't) the last BF was a total lagfest online. If anything, thats what they should be worried about...
'It’s a sad day. Not only does this give ammunition to the Jack Thompsons and ignorant politicians of the world, but we also lost a little gamer, and most importantly a defenseless human being. Only a monster can hurt a child. Our condolences go out to the Maldonado family.'
There is so much wrong w/ the way they worded this statement. How some political blowhard would respond to this is only an afterthought. The fact that they start their statement off sounding more concerned ...
L4D2 or GTFO
There is just no excuse for that game. Clunky controls, outdated graphics, repetitive gameplay. I had more fun playing the downloadable title Zombie Apacolypse.
only on a web site like this would they need to seperate the comments section; this is obviously the section for d!psh!ts.
Everyone just complains that the new Final Fantasies are just rehashes of 7. I say, sure, do the remake, but don't forget to add a ton of new content and refinements.
For a game that is winning so many awards it sure is on a lot of 'most overrated' lists.
Street Fighter 4
L4D2
Scribblenauts
For a game debut on one console in one country, that's pretty damn impressive. I could only imagine what the figures would look like if it was a full release. Maybe not COD numbers, but most likely better than Halo.
Finally, somebody cuts the sh!t. I find it funny that people put so much stock in Natal, when it is not being primarily developed for consoles. MS has other applications for the tech in mind, they are just using the 360 as a starting point. It has bigger Non-Gaming implications, and yes, technology will never take the place of game developing.
Back in the day, when devs were limited by the hardware, they actually had to think outside the box. Nowadays, with limitless power at t...
hahaha lmao, hilarious title!
actually, I have played through both L4D games, and there is no excuse for how mediocre they are. I would rather play Nazi Zombies any day of the week over L4D.
The graphics are an eyesore. The AI is terrible, the game just throughs swarms of zombies at you. The controls are clunky as can be. The level design is boring. All around terrible game. If anyone thinks that L4D2 wasn't a rushed sequel then they're just kidding themselves. Valve had to release something this year, unfo...
