Its just a rip off of the old mod for team fortress, Conc_Maps, except the Conc_Maps were much more challenging in Team Fortress Classic. I sat down to play Portal and breezed through it; the puzzles were all pretty simple. Its an interesting premise but they don't do much with it. This game doesn't warrant all the praise it gets.
Actually, Socom:Confrontation wasn't a true sequel. It was more or less a quick port of the PS2 version - they shut the servers down for PS2 so they came out with 'Confrontation' to apppease the fanbase.
That being said, I'm glad they are limiting this game to 32 players. I'd take the destructable environments and better graphics any day over the likes of MAG's massive but soulless battlefields.
Its that there isn't enough mods. The lack of maturity on the 360 is startling. They could use more account banning.
ok, so let me get this straight, the last battlefield just came out a few weeks ago and we're already talking about another sequel? It seems kind of cheap to already be looking foward to the next game when most people haven't even gotten a chance to give the current one a spin. Doesn't do much for my confidence if they are already talking about how much they are going to improve on the current title.
As much as I hate to agree with 12 year olds
Valve does suck. They used to be my favorite dev back in the original HalfLife/CounterStrike/TeamFor tressClassic days. But there is just no excuse for their output these days. I don't care who is defending it, L4D is a seriously mediocre game in every aspect. The downloadable title Zombie Apacolypse is more fun.
I just find its funny that HHG has to try and mask the fact that this is his article otherwise nobody will read it
oh yeah, and I would liken KZ2 to James Cameron's Avatar - a lot of pretty visuals that don't add up to much. I love how people get hung up on the technical facts - I could care less, as long as the game is fun, which is something that can't be said about games like Resistance. That game took the Halo formula and watered it down even more.
out of all of these comparisons, I have yet to see one that is so bad it would make me reconsider buying the game on a different console
MMO's are just tedious and repetitive. Usually, its not even about skill, but who puts the most time in. My brother plays WoW and he tells me that lately they have made it so easy he could literally beat his head against the keyboard and still play.
This is interesting news however. Just the other day I was reading about how the WoW population has stopped growing.
I think Sony's strategy is actually pretty damn smart. Why fork over the money for these overpriced franchises when they could just get a brand new IP developed exclusively for their console?
Its no secret that GT4 and FF13 are underwhelming. I'd much rather see what Agent and FFversus has in store. Rockstar has been working on Agent longer than any other game they have ever made. Its got game of the year written all over it.
Still not buying Gyllenhal in the lead role. He only utters 3 lines of dialogue in the trailer.
Just look at the last windows - they finally delivered a decent version now that they were under fire over the last 2 OS's they released!
oh god, another butthurt fanboy - I'm sorry CoD is a successful game and you don't like it. There are dozens of similarities between the two. I could sit here all day and pick apart the flaws in Counterstrike, but I would rather just enjoy it for what it is.
Or at least, that's what I think. Valve are just a bunch of lazy devs these days. They don't want to compete. They'd rather release a bunch of mediocre games on their outdated graphical engine.
Its a shame, because Counterstrike basically made the tactical shooter genre what it is today. Games like COD and BF have it to thank.
It always cracks me up when devs try to cater to mature audiences, as if that is what people who play videogames are really looking for - mature content. At the most, this game will appeal to a niche audience. Lest we forget, videogame consoles are primarily children's toys.
Sounds like a tampon, a really expensive tampon
it better have wings or gtfo
But KZ2 had the better singleplayer. I loved the last boss in that game. Playing that game on the hardest mode, the boss battle at the end makes it all worth it. The online just feels broken though, there is some serious lag going on. Its too bad though, because I love class based shooters. Team Fortress Classic is my all time fave.
There is no excuse for COD though - its true what they say, all people want to do is noob toob and the killstreaks are out of hand. The noob toobin...
him and david jaffe should get a room already
I stopped coming here for a year because I got sick of seeing comments from posters like you, and out of all the pathetic trolls, you are the only one that still bothers to post your inane nonesense in every last thread. I just pity you man, you obviously have no life whatsoever.
LMAO at people in the gamer zone trying to defend this nonesense. Some people will bend over and take anything. Why is it that you can only buy points in certain increments? It seems the arguement is that MS isn't ripping anyone off because you can use those points towards other purchases - somebody failed basic economics. So in order to purchase something from the marketplace you basically have to invest your money in the bank of XBL. How much interest is MS giving you for them?
Actually, I still play Gears1 religiously w/ my buddies. Its still a great game that holds up well to this day. Its actually a very well balanced game between the level design and the weapons. That was something that was lost on the sequel.
The original is easily one of the best games this generation has to offer. I have yet to play a PS3 game online that was as addicting. And there is nothing wrong w/ the graphics.
