For me I want a multipurpose device which is why I got rid of my PSP and got a smartphone.
The PSP was capable of more its just Sony locked it down too much. Oh, but the browser was pure $hit.
So many (but so few in the bigger scheme of things) think the Vita will be a runaway success. I personally think it will struggle until it gets a new form factor. Also, it needs app support, native avi and divx support and a good web browser.
I have all 3 and undecided which one to get it on. Love playing using my console on my big screen tv but i'll bet anything the console multiplayer lobby is shit.
And no, I have no intention of hooking my pc to my tv as I need them separate (kids).
@thecraft
You've been drinking too much Microsoft coolade if you think that gaming on a pc is as easy or easier than gaming on a console.
I use to think the same way but have been blown away by the quality of games available on tablets and smartphones. If you think its all Angry Birds your fooling yourself.
Question, where to after the Vita and 3DS? These may be the last truely dedicated gaming handhelds.
It was fun but gltchy. Felt like a beta to be honest. Wondering if the Kinect will allow for a better experience. Should be interesting.
Vita needs a good web browser, apps marketplace and native support for standard video codecs before i'd consider getting one. Honestly, if its only about the game Vita will struggle outside of the gaming community.
I prefer tablet devices nowadays running Android.
Move was a waste of money. I should have known better after wasting money on the ps3eye when I first got my ps3.
I hope its because gamers are maturing and not because BF3 is going too casual.
2GB dedicated for video please.
Where is Move's killer must have app???? This is EyeToy and PS3Eye all over again.
Would only be a great deal if you could get more psp games on psn. I use to own a Go but sold it after there being almost no support for it.
Maybe 3 years ago. Honestly, they should be bundling in redemption offers for the vita as well cause the psp is damn near finished in terms of software support. No, I dont count minis as support.
Work issued me with an htc phone running windows 7 mobile. I cant stand it compared to android and ios. So, keep making assumptions and live with the fact you dont know as much as you think you do.
Its amazing. You dont like something and immediately its assumed you've never used it.
Win7 mobile is a terrible o/s.
Portable gaming tech does not stagnate for 6 years like consoles do. I can see a day where you'll plug your portable into your big screen tv with better than current gen console results. I like the idea of an all in one device. Anyone who thinks it couldnt happen is fooling themself.
How long is the game as its priced at $24 on the NZ PSN.
Yeah well, Sony's not doing much more with the Move. I think we've been had.
So, about $40 NZD. Yeah, think i'll wait for when its on sale.
Smartphone gaming is not going anywhere. Smartphones are all about versitility which the majority of consumers want.
I'll also bet you that smartphones will be more powerful than the vita within 12 months of the vita being launched.
