What should be mentioned here is that studios NEVER call actors until the script is completely finalized, especially in the case of Metal Gear Solid where the plot must be kept in complete and utter secrecy. MGS has been known for dropping huge plot bombs, and the later actors are called the less risk you take on as a company.
