I wouldn't say that 3D would necessarily make it suffer technically. Uncharted 3 was 3D-capable, yet had amazing graphics still.
Though I couldn't care either way, I think that the fact that Sony adding 3D support to a lot of its games is a great idea. I'm sure that next generation, there will be even more games with 3D support. It might even be standard on all games by then.
Man, I just can't believe it's Naughty Dog. Saweeeet!! I'm so psyched for this.
PS3 = Never Ending Awesome Exclusives All Year Long Every Year!!!
Sooo psyched to see that Naughty Dog is the developer for this. It's gonna be awesome!
The game Last of Us is being developed by Naughty Dog and appears to be a zombie survival game set in a post-zombie-virus city.
I still have my copy of Battle Arena Toshinden. lol It's in one of those old big PS1 cases. It's the only PS1 (or PS2) game that I have left for some reason.
They made the emphasis on PS3 because I swear the media for some odd reason is just completely against Sony this generation. I just don't get it. The thing is, if we're all completely honest, had Sony came out with a $400 PS3 (cheaper than $600) and had they came out the same time as MS, they would not be in third place right now. ALOT of PS2 people went out and bought a 360 because they didn't want to wait it out for a year to get a PS3. Then, they ended up just s...
I thought it was 3 months we got extra. Can't remember. All I know is that Plus is WELL worth the $50. Instead of just giving us access to the online portion of our already bought games, Sony is giving us more games and content for that money. We're ACTUALLY getting something.
Actually, man, I played several hours the other night and didn't encounter a single hacked game. I played only team deathmatch for at least 3 hours. CoD4 is just so damn perfect compared to the newer ones. I wish they'd at least offer a gameplay mode in the new games where it's like CoD4 where you just have 3 killstreaks and NO deathstreaks or ridiculous perks.
The maps in CoD4 were also much much better than the new games' maps.
Sony's gotten smarter as of late and usually provides gameplay footage of their games instead of pre-rendered. E3 is proof of that. Hopefully, like you guys said, this is gameplay footage like usual.
Just imagine if they HAD made a SKU for the Vita where it's a phone too. For like maybe $400 (and subsidized with a 2yr contract to like $200) you could get a Vita that had cell phone functionality too. THAT would be SICK!!!! Do it Sony.
But yes, as it stands now, the Vita isn't really competing directly with smartphones. It's competing with the DS and 3DS.
CoD4 had it perfect. Why did MW2 and 3 have to come in and ruin the formula. 3 Killstreaks and NO deathstreaks is how it should still be. As it is, it's too noob-friendly. If you suck, then play more and get better like everyone else. The deathstreaks are pitiful. Can't stand them. And there's entirely too many planes and helicopters in the air getting kills for people. I thought that MW3 was gonna bring us back to the CoD4 formula, but I was dead wrong. I...
I hope to see Sony do the same so that we can stay in touch with PSN friends. Good to see MS branching out and allowing iOS users to stay in touch with their XBL friends. I'll be downloading this soon. (XBL: Blu Matt PSN: blumatt)
@fluffydelusions
I think everyone knows you like Android by your avatar. That was absolutely unnecessary. Why is that Android fans are the ones that bash everyone else? You don't see NEARLY the amount of iPhone fa...
Sad. lol So many good exclusives that are much better games, but some people won't branch out and try something new, and keep playing the same game over and over year after year.
What?! Portal 2 was an awesome game. It actually required some intelligence to play too. You had to really think to beat those puzzles.
I say that either Skyrim, Portal 2 or Uncharted 3 should get it.
And THIS is why OnLive will not catch on for some time. And also why I believe next generation the PS4 will have bluray discs for its games still and have digital download as an option too.
This sucks big time though. We should not be throttled or capped when using internet. Reminds me of back in the day when we were measured by how much time we spent on the internet. I had that crappy WalMart Connect dial-up service and we could only use it for like a couple hour...
Looks great. Kinda resembles the XMB a bit. Not a bad thing though.
@pangitkqk
I argree with you on that. Less obtrusive advertising so that we don't have them shoved down our throat like they have been. Daggum beef jerky commercials popping up without me even wanting it. I thought I paid $60 for XBL Gold so that I wouldn't have advertising. That's how most paid members are treated on most websites. If you pay, the advertisements are gon...
The sad thing is that no matter how good Sony's exclusives are, people will downplay them to no end. They'll say how since they didn't sell 5 million day one that they're a failure. That's just a bunch of BS if you ask me. A game should not be judged by its sales, but by its quality and uniqueness.
People have got to understand that not every game is going to sell as much as Halo or Mario. It's that simple. Plus, when we've had like 8 ...
Smash n Survive sounds like a good title for that new "Smash Bros" type game. But I don't think this is it.
@cpayne93
True. Very true. But I do think regardless of what Sony calls it, people will STILL bitch about the title. haha
They need to worry about getting back to the basic simple gameplay like in CoD4 where there were just three killstreaks, NO deathstreaks, much better balance, and far fewer perks.
I bought this game hoping for a TRUE CoD4 sequel and was thoroughly disappointed. The graphics also look a bit washed out compared to CoD4. I don't know why.
Either way, the game is going to be sold and I'm getting Skyrim. Simple as that.
Glad to see another new IP from Sony and another exclusive. They know how to spend their money wisely, that's for sure. They keep us core fans happy.
