Very interesting review. I have been sort of procrastinating. I've owned this game for a long time, but I've been sort of afraid of playing it, because I don't want to be disappointed. I really enjoyed the original Amnesia and the reviews for this game have been mixed at best. I'm going to give it a go now. I'm really interested after reading this review. Good job and thanks for renewing my interest.
Those aren't gamers, even though they like to think of themselves as gamers. The definition of a gamer has been watered down for about a decade now and basically is defined by people who spend a lot of time gaming. By that definition anyone who spends a lot of time eating could call themselves an expert on food, even if they only eat McDonald's, Burger King and Subway.
How many so-called gamers can repair and or diagnose a PC? How many so-called gamers have ever heard...
Your argument makes zero sense. People do not have the patience<-- you said that and my counter was everyone who played it completed it, therefore your argument has a false conclusion. Again you didn't even address what needs to be understood, instead you respond in a snarky way. Why so touchy?
Your argument is invalid. I'm not attacking you, I'm just countering you argument. Where do I come across as missing what you said? I never said anything about your opi...
Cool, thanks for the info. From now on I think I will play the series on PC. :)
This is an outstanding review of the game. It is incredibly well-though out and I cannot argue with the criticisms. Although, the technical problems that have been occurring for a lot of players were not mentioned and I am curious why not? Did the reviewer not experience them and if so, what platform did you play it on? Oh, and I was curious as to what presentation issues you were referring to? You said it suffered from presentation issues?
I loved this series all until the ...
What about previous reviews make you believe them to be "Leftist"?
Excellent question. Long answer (sorry): Take the hypothetical scenario. The revelational twist in Gone Home is that the girl discovers she is a Christian after being raised by a family of lifetime Atheists. Would the gaming press still be gushing over the game? Answer: not a chance. In fact the game would have been overwhelmingly dismissed. Why? It's the same experience in every single way but ...
Exactly. There are no jump scares so how is waiting for something that never occurs a good thing?
Oh, I see, the sentence police. Thank you for your contribution to the discussion.
Explain your comment please?
Finally and honest review spoken from the lens of objectivity instead of the lens of a political leftist.
Everyone I've heard who didn't like the game completed it. I like these types of games, but I didn't like this one. It was boring. What understanding is required to enjoy this game? Please enlighten us on what we don't understand?
10-9=1/10 there, fixed. I'm not trolling. This walking simulator is the most boring graphical experience I've ever had. Us little people (non-journalists) are not obsessed with political correctness, which allows us to view this game outside of the political lens.
I'm a sexual libertarian--I could care less what someone's sexual preferences are. But a boring walking simulator is a boring walking simulator. The experience is boring. 1/10
Bimkoblerutso is 100% correct in his analysis. The game is hyped because of the media's obsession with political correctness.
Take away the "theme" and the game is nothing but a boring simulator where you literally walk around a mansion and rummage through the families belongings. That's literally it. It gets boring very quickly.
That's your opinion and I completely disagree with it. Granted the impact of the subject matter is subjective, but games like Dear Esther, which in my mind was a much more interesting experience, didn't receive nearly the same amount of attention. Why? Dear Esther is about dealing with death and grief, and should be just as emotionally impacting, yet the gaming press largely ignored it. Why I ask again? It was the same type of game. Both games had good graphics and great presentations...
been hearing a little about this title. I might check it out.
I have no idea if Trump would make a good president, but I think the reason why Trump is resonating with so many Americans is
1. He's not politically correct. Many Americans are sick and tired of being told what we can say and what we cannot say.
2. He's not owned by the lobbyists. He's funding his own campaign, meaning he's not a puppet like the rest are perceived to be. There is a perception that the USA is a corrupt oligarchy. When was the la...
1/10 -- my opinion. Without a doubt the most over hyped game of all time. This is nothing but political correctness. Without the lesbian theme this game wouldn't have received the accolades it did.
I think it was great Mark Twain that said, "If you find yourself standing in the majority, it's time to pause and reflect."
I never really cared for The Last of Us either. It's just someone's opinion. I agree with the argument made in the article. Great presentation, but mediocre gameplay. The argument that it won all of the game of the year awards doesn't mean anything. Not everyone is going to agree a movie that wins the best picture Oscar is the best movie of that year. Shakespeare in Love won best picture over Saving Private Ryan in 1998, some agree with that, some don't; it doesn't make it...
FFX remastered would be most welcome! Nonetheless I picked up NBA Jam On Fire Edition. For $1.50 it's totally worth it.
