What bait and switch?
The game WILL come out on Xbox One. It's an Xbox One booth. It's likely that this is either a PC build or an Xbox One dev build (Which could potentially still run on PC in emulation etc) so what's the harm in showing it?
This isn't a mishap. It's a bloody in-development game. So what if they show it on a desktop machine. That's where they're going to be doing most of their development.

What if the game would never have seen the light of day without the deal? MS injecting some cash into CD might have given them the ability to create a decent game and get it out there.
It's pretty well known that sales of the first didn't make the publisher very happy (even though it sold well, considering). Think: would they have gone and made a second without thinking that some extra cash needed to come from somewhere.

As for the F2P - the model has worked in some cases. I've really enjoyed games like Age Of Empires: Online and Battlefield Heroes so I won't rule anything out without considering it.
Not sure why anyone would have any misgivings - the game literally doesn't exist in any playable capacity yet. There's nothing to dislike.

I thought this was a pretty dumb idea when I first read about it. Bought it (£20 for a year) on Sunday. Been playing Peggle 2 flat out :p
