I agree in principle. I am maybe a third of the way through the game now and I'm really not sold on the combat at all. It's kinda blocky and the action tends to feel there just for the sake of it at times.

HOWEVER - the game is so much fun. The story being told and the clever elements delivering it are brilliant. Seriously. The in-game dialog and character interactions are so good - the mo-cap really adds a layer of natural movement to the rest of the scene that makes...

Please don't give this nonsense a click. Why do we approve this shite?

I seriously wish we could nuke articles into obscurity when the writing standard is low.

"With exciting VR games like: Ace Combat 7, RIGS, Golem, Eagle Flight, Psychonauts, Adrift, Allison Road, The Deep, Dreams, EVE: Valkyrie, Gran Turismo Sport, The London Heist, Robinson: The Journey, Tekken 7, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and War Thunder and many more announced to be coming to PSVR, the headset shouldn’t at least be starved from games."

Fuck so far...

@thekhurg

We can avoid the season pass and get the content when it releases but what about the monthly events? Would you not consider that a pay wall?

3420d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

@Infected @thekhurg

This is nonsense. What else in the world do you pay for in advance? "Have this car, pay us now before you see it or test drive." / "Have this coat but you aren't allowed to try it on and we'll send it go you in 6 months".

You say people want something for free. No one said anything about getting something for nothing. I just don't see why we should pay more, get less then pay on top of that for what we used...

Getting the DLC isn't the thing being argued against though - it's paying up front for it (months and months in advance) when it's completely unproven.

Add in the fact that people who pay extra get access to limited "events" and it becomes a pay wall - extra on top of the price of the game and the cost of the service you pay for (PSN or XBL). Where is the extra content being offered here for these monthly "events"? And when did it become common...

I think half of the problem is that in business terms it makes an awful lot of sense for a developer to implement. Even teams which you'd argue have excellent consumer practices like CDPR have used Season Passes.

It's rational because it turns around the notion of a software house not making money until their product is finished. It almost reminds me of Early Access in some ways.

Unfortunately, the companies who are making the most money from Season P...

Why aren't we as a community more annoyed at the notion of Season Passes than we are?

They're evil, anti-consumer bullshit that they just keep shoveling.

Some concessions could be made - getting the DLC at a reduced rate or a few days earlier; OK, maybe that's not so bad.

BUT, paying for stuff before it's reviewed - shit, before it's even made! - is nonsense. We shouldn't "trust" in developers or publishers t...

I enjoyed Alan Wake - not so much American Nightmare though...

The main Alan Wake was brilliant. I know some people couldn't get behind the torch-as-a-weapon gameplay mechanic but I've always found restrictions like that to be what makes a survival horror game work (Resident Evil 4's awful controls or Silent Hill with its fixed camera angles).

I'm hoping Quantum Break will be as good (though nothing I've seen so far is convincing me...). W...

At the minute it's quite like Destiny. We found it difficult last night to find things worth "doing". There aren't really missions - just encounters where it's just a shooting gallery. The Dark Zone doesn't have missions at all that I could tell, just the other players.

3426d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

I played the Alpha and was jumping back into the Beta thinking it was more of the same.

The Dark Zone surprised the hell out of me. The suspense while you're in there is terrifying at times. You can't trust anyone!

I had determined to stop someone who had gone rogue, only to realise a few minutes later I was perched where he had been, shooting the people coming for me. Funny when you realise you became the bad guy.

Why was this approved? I wish we could report articles that make it through the approval process so that the approvers would have to answer for total crap like this.

Not sure why you've got a disagree here.

Fallout 3 (and New Vegas to an extent) was one of my favourites because it pushed boundaries at the time and did something so fresh and was more immersive than anything else out there.

Fallout 4 has so many limitations, be it aesthetically, in the physics engine or the outdated and restricted dialog system that it feels like an old game.

I'm still playing it, but can't help but be disappoin...

Yeah I agree. The status page (and the console itself) shows everything you need to know. Article offers nothing more than repeating what can be found through the official channels.

That was an enjoyable read. I've been considering doing the same (picking up a dev kit on the cheap) but with the investment required to get a PC up and running to spec too, I might just go whole hog and do it all properly once the reviews are in about the released version.

3436d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm not going to report this but I'm not approving it either. I mean, Christ, have some integrity:

"Either way, 343 has nothing to fear, there are plenty of studios willing to accept ex-employees of this caliber."

What a crock of shit.

"The truth is most people that bought the original were PC owners."

... but before that:

"If the title walks and talks like its predecessor, i...

Also, being petty but:

Someone is trying really hard to dump on Microsoft. What's the point here?

I haven't delved enough into F4 yet but it's got a very slow grind to start with. It's taken me quite some time to just get past tutorial quests.

I honestly think if it hadn't been for the Witcher I'd have thought this was the best thing ever but since the Witcher launched first, it's just so hard to beat.
