Therefore it is more than 4.
It's a wierd time for gaming. Seems these companies are using gaming as a platform to get their true agendas toward fruitation. It's almost like gaming is the least profitable of all the entertainment mediums.
What are they doing? It's getting so diverted in focus that smartphones and tablets are being considered competition.
Dare I say that videogames will be a threatened form of entertainment?
I remember when the PS3 was bashed for an entire two years after it's announcement.
As much as I wish to give the Xbots a taste of their own medicine, I cannot. I do not wish to become a hypocrite and follow in their footsteps.
The PS3 has got to be the only console that beat all odds, beat all the criticism, beat the bad press, beat the launch, the price, the doubts, and the predictions. As bad as it was it made me a believer that any console can turn ...
Doesn't suprise me. I knew this would happen. Microsoft never really had a solid foundation for games. I looked way back at their history to the days of PC. Not many inhouse IPs.
They are a software company and into enhancing games with their services. I realised this when they claimed every game was better because of XBox Live.
While true in many ways they didn't have many of their own games. They were more of an add on for the already existing talen...
I have a strong feeling that gaming will make a comeback. All these social related ideas are nice but are beginning to lose popularity.
This gaming industry have been chasing the wrong markets for so long they are beginning to lose focus on who or what they are competing with.
When a company starts believing their competition are a bunch of portable devices then you know they forgot their hardware's true purpose.
For starters they aren...
Xbox Now sounds like a content on demand service for streaming games, movies, and music.
The 3rd black case.
1) Insult the current console generation by saying the game can only work on next gen, but sell it anyway.
2) Create a game that advertises their true purposes for "Always Online" gaming so that people will understand.
3) Have strong logical evidence to the contrary to your emotional desires but ignore it anyway.
4) Release the game two weeks after Call of Duty and expect it to sell.
5) Don't learn from Sony and release games at the beginning of t...
I could swear it was a family title.
Let me get this straight. EA starts a trend that, in effect, causes the entire industry to charge more money for buying used...and now they're the good guys for backing out?
While I agree used games can hurt potential new game sales, I never felt that supporting the online mode for two years was enough service when 5-10 gamers paid "their share" to play online off the same copy. It would be a bit more understandable if the charge was for game access. At leas...
I think presentation has been around for a long time. It has been more prevalent in story driven games. I disagree with some the author's points.
The shift has been moving away from single player, story driven games to the online, multiplayer, socially driven kind. The lack of focus on gameplay has been a recurring problem throughout most of gaming's history.
The only recent trend I'm aware of is the shift back toward the difficulty of older gam...
Activision is worried about nextgen because...
1) They won't be able to recycle the same buildings.
2) They would have to find a use for the share button...besides buying stock.
3) They can't fire the same creators twice.
4) They would have to change Call of Duty Ghosts to Call of Duty: Ghosted
5) Next gen is about sharing, something Bobby can't handle.
6) Their 4000 employees just mastered the power of CELL.
7) T...
How many dramatic ways can one open their wallet? Start asking for our retirement fund?
A must play especially for those that played the past titles.
I wish that trophies and achievements focused more on complete mastery of a video game. That means doing everything the game has to offer.
I find that some trophy/achievement sets leave entire game modes untouched. It almost feels they never sat down, tried to master the game first, and then think about what makes a game truly mastered. To me it means trying everything and overcoming the challenges the creators set in place.
As it stands right now a 10...
Sony and Nintendo were a year behind the 360. Doesn't seem to be a defining problem. Nintendo went to first place and Sony is near tied to 2nd.
It only means the next Xbox may release 6 months later.
They still haven't made it clear what happens to your digital purchases if they stop their online service. While I agree that digital is a superior format over physical, it isn't when it's tied to a service provider.
It may save gas, the possiblity of scratched discs, or add convienance over discs but I wouldn't trade those for the inevitable loss of my digital purchases.
"PS3 scene member SKFU is known for his habit of sniffing and manipulating networks packets (in particular he likes to tinker the stuff Sony doesn’t necessarily want you to see when communications happen between your home network and the PSN). Today he spotted some content on the PSN that seems to be test data for the upcoming PS4."
Known by who? I've been an active gamer for over 30 years. I've also been an active internet news reader for well over 5 year...
It seems the PS4 is focusing on two things...socialibility and convienance.
Both are features founded on the ability to service those results.
I love gaming. Yet I wish progress was made without having services. The share feature should be an implementation of the game maker, not the service provider.
They played audio from the PS4 event.
