Don't you know, the 360 vs PS3 is nothing like the DC vs PS2, even though you're right. The only difference is that the install base is larger, which would make more sense since the last gen sold WAY more consoles than the previous gen (PS1).
DC: Out first, games on CD instead of DVD, better online, easier to program for at first
That's nothing like the 360 which was out first, games on DVD instead of HD format, better online, and easier to program for at first ...
That only one bubble left troll. The US market obviously isn't the only one to concentrate on. Otherwise the 360 would have killed the PS3 WW in Dec, which they didn't. It was nearly a dead heat.
They'll getcha...
Anyway, good post, bubble to you sir
SW sales are good for western games. Did any game that wasn't a FPS, WRPG, GH, or Rockband (all games that do Very well in the states compared to other countries) EVER make the list. How about Blue Dragon? Flop. How about a platformer? Never released one. Action/adventure game? Nothing...
There is a place for the 360 and the PS3 and IMO sales of GT5 and MGS4 will show if the audience the PS3 is after is large enough to justify making those games anymore. If sales are ba...
You mean sell less consoles than the year before. As good as 2007 was for M$ there is one glaring thing that I notice that is never addressed: They sold less HW than the launch year (w/ price cuts) and that's almost unheard of for consoles. So while those gamers are obviously buying brand new games at an amazing pace it will be interesting to see how HW sales go for the 360 this year. For that matter it will be interesting to see if Sony does the same as the 360 did last year and drop in ...
I can honestly say that I enjoyed my original xbox as much as my PS2. I loved the Halo series and KOTOR series, while on my PS2 I enjoyed the GTA series, the MGS series and the FF series. Both systems are going to be releasing those series' again as exclusives, so as a 360 owner and a PS3 owner, guess who wins... that's right... ME!
Is that in the month of Dec, WW sales are estimated to be in the PS3's favor while US sales are obviously in the 360's favor.
What this means is that winning the single biggest video game market (US or even better US+UK) does not necessarily mean you will be winning the WW market. So WW market - US + UK > US + UK market. That is what it means.
I sure am glad I know that the 360 is outselling the PS3 in the US. W/out the three articles posted about it I would never have known... </sarcasm>
I like when actual 'news' is posted on 'news for gamers'. I really like this guy and he seems very straightforward and honest about his answers. No bull$h!t
That's the one in the snowfield right? Want to know an easy way to beat it?
Go to the bottom left or right corner behind a hill and use the seeking missles and guide them around until you hit the boss. Really one of the easiest boss battles in the game. The first time I used the sniper and you're right, it took like an hour to beat it.
I have been looking forward to this since I saw the trailer. Now I have to wait until next fall? F*ck that!
FWIW I'm a huge SW nerd and have played nearly every star wars game at some point.
Where's KOTOR3? Give me something...
I'm really interested in the 360's trend vs. the PS3's trend. Right now the 360 is trending down (9 Mil sold the 1st year, 8 Mil sold the 2nd) w/ not a whole lot to offer in 2008 so far. The PS3 has sold as well as the 360 did it's first year, but it will be interesting to see if it can sell MORE the 2nd year, or if it follows the 360 and actually sells less. W/ the lineup 2008 is promising (we'll see if it comes true) I can't see any way that this happens, but it still is possible (look a...
That this is the launch year for PS3. During the launch year of the PS2 the attach rate was a measly 1.7. Did that have any affect on 3rd party support.
Both systems will get plenty of 3rd party support regardless of 'attach rates' and I'm all for it. To say one is going to get more than the other really depends on the genre of game you are looking for. You want cool 3rd party FPS's or western RPG's, well the 360 is going to get that 3rd party support. You want a cool JRPG...
Blu Ray Movies: Spiderman 3, Apocolypto, Rocky, T2, 300, HP 4&5, PoC3
Games: AC, COD4, Uncharted, UT3, Lego Star Wars, Resistance, NG, Oblivion, Madden 07
I own 2 machines and couldn't be happier. As a total package deal there is far more to offer on the PS3 than the 360 (which I own one of those too). Personally, none of this matters to me. I have a lot of great games to play on both systems and I bought them both for the tried and true franchises such as Halo, K...
360 pwns because the PS3 has a diverse userbase. Well, guess what? That diverse userbase means that MORE people will buy the console, not just hardcore gamers. I know A LOT of people that bought a PS2 because they wanted a DVD player for their bedroom, plus it could play some great games.
Last gen was the same. The xbox had great attach rates. Did it matter to developers then? Why is it so important now?
IMO this year will be interesting. The last xbox sat...
When even they don't get all the data. Is anyone really surprised that the 360 outsold the PS3 in Dec in the US? I'm not and I'm sure 99% of the people here aren't either. 360 outsells in the US (maybe even Can and Mex, but who knows), PS3 outsells in Japan and pretty much all of Europe except UK. They both had a great holiday season.
BTW this is just as dumb as posting that the 360 is getting killed in Japan. I think these should only be news if something we didn't alread...
Well, glad I have Comcast (for the first time ever...)
For a well thought out statement. I agree w/ EVERYTHING you stated. I own both systems and both Resistance and Gears are good fun games.
Why Resistance is even brought up in this thread is beyond me.
Anyway, bubbles for you sir.
Don't forget about Haze. Haze Haze Haze
This is really the same as giving a kid candy so he'll stop crying. I'm still pissed I couldn't play Halo for 2 weeks. I should be able to DL any game I want, just give me the points.
Anyway, to the person talking about PSN being down, you wouldn't see nearly the amount of uproar. Here is an analogy I've used many times:
Say N4G goes down for two weeks, should we get compensation? No, it's free, why should we be compensated. Now say that WoW goes down for a ...
