The Preseason of XDefiant started on May 21 and ever since, there have been many complaints. So far the tie for the biggest complaint was between the P2W controversy and the number of sweaty players. Now, this one is all over social media. From the start of the Preseason, XDefiant fans have been up in arms over hit reg. In short – not all hits are fully registered. This, unfortunately, led to a swarm of annoyed players.
What’s Wrong With XDefiant’s Hit Reg?
Players have been issuing complaints online. A Reddit user, cucarachonsupremo, said: “The hit reg of this game is ridiculous, you can never win a fight because you will always die behind cover in the last second, there is no way to make a “good play” pushing to the limit”. StattyBoii confirmed: “The hit reg is awful!”
ACO_22 added: “I thought I was going mad with the hit reg. I’m losing so many gunfights despite shooting first and not missing my shots”. Another dedicated player, ndr29, expressed their frustration. They said: “Literally turned off the Xbox today after shooting half a mag first only to die first. If they can’t fix hit reg in an FPS then good luck”.
Another fan, Dernima11, explained that the hit reg issue wasn’t new, it existed during tests, as well. They explained: “Everyone is encountering this issue, it was a massive issue during all the prior tests as well. I cannot believe they decided to launch it with it. It probably won’t get fixed as well since they’ve been at it since the start. Ridiculous. It’s the thing that will make me quit for sure”.
Mark Rubin Promises Players a Fix
On X, a profile named XDefiant Updates posted: “Petition to fix Hit Reg in XDefiant, who’s with me”. One of the first replies was by Mark Rubin, the Executive Producer of XDefiant. He said: “You don’t need a petition. It’s something we are working on”.
We have to give Mark Rubin some credit for personally replying to hundreds of complaints and players’ issues. That’s quite rare in the gaming community. Although amused, fans still had some concerns about the probability of hit reg actually being fixed.
Demoth reminded: “As others have pointed out, the beta last year had hit reg issues and Mark said it was their top priority. So I don’t blame people for being skeptical”. BigPoleFoles52 added: “It shouldn’t have been released like this, they knew it was busted and still shipped it. I have little faith that this will be fixed anytime soon”.
It’s important to point out that aside from this issue, players have reported they enjoyed the game. Hit reg is definitely something that the XDefiant devs need to fix in order to keep their fans. Fortunately, they say they’re working on it. It might be a big fix, but players at least know their complaints have been acknowledged. Let’s just hope they will fix it soon enough because not everyone is patient, and some fans might permanently quit the game.
