Where to find Karlach?

After completing the Prologue quest and escaping the Nautiloid Ship, make your way to the middle of the map and unlock the Blighted Village waypoint. Then, head north until you reach the Risen Road. Go east and kill a pack of Gnoll enemies. Head down a slight hill to reach a stream where you will find wounded Karlach on a rock across. Speak with her and offer to help her.

Head towards the abandoned house near Risen Road. You will find Anders and his companions there. Speak with the mercenary leader and select the dialogue option, “I know the woman…She’s under my protection.” This will trigger a fight. Defeat the enemies and ensure Karlach’s safety. Be careful, this can be a tough fight at early levels.

You can also complete this quest after you have collected the Asmodeus tiefling berserker at the quest marker by taking her with you to defeat the Paladins. She is certainly one of the strongest early game companions, followed by Shadowheart, Lae’zel, and Gale.

Go back to Karlach’s location and speak with her to complete the quest to recruit her to join your party.
