The fast travel feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 is extremely simple. All players have to do is open their map at any time, and select one of the unlocked fast travel points to instantly travel there. The waypoint names are located on the game world maps and in a list to the right of the map.

What are all Fast Travel Waypoints in Baldur’s Gate 3?

There are many fast travel waypoints in the world, spread over several maps. They can be activated by walking near rocks with purple ancient runes imprinted on them. These spots are marked as Ancient Rune Circles and represent fast travel markers. Fortunately, players do not need any required skills or stat checks to activate them, and just walking past the ancient sigil circle with your allies will mark the spots on your map.

Why Fast Travel doesn’t work sometimes?

There are a few instances in Baldur’s Gate 3 when the Fast Travel option is disabled. This usually happens when you’re in the middle of a fight, in a dungeon that you have to navigate to get out of, or during specific story sections.

Whenever this happens and you open your Map to fast travel, you’ll see a red box under your waypoint list. It tells you that your party is unable to fast travel in this instance. You’ll have to find a way to a more secure location before being able to fast travel again.
