Some of The First Descendant Players Are Begging For a Bit of Invulnerability
You know that soul-crushing feeling when you’re waiting to be revived and then you immediately die again? Everyone hates that, you hate that, the player who revived you hates that, and your whole team is probably annoyed. Well, if the devs hear out what the community has to say, that might change soon. Lately, The First Descendant players have been adamant that a player should have short-term invulnerability upon being revived.
Some Descendants Claim a Moment of Invulnerability Is Crucial
One player, cayde6666, started this movement. They insisted: “We need a period of invulnerability after being rescued. Getting downed as soon as you get up is ridiculous, this is 10 times worse if you play Enzo. People trying to revive you and you go down immediately because the shields don’t come back is crazy”.
To be honest, the players aren’t asking for much. They just want a very short amount of time that would allow them to get to safety. Alexander0202 noted: “We need at least 1.5 seconds of invulnerability. Just enough to grapple away and get some cover. It’s also worse with the void bosses as they could be mining an attack at the person reviving you so as soon as they do revive you, that attack just knocks you back down”.
Another player, porcomaster, added: “As an Enzo main, I agree, but I would love to revive with a shield. A shield stat on external components, even 5-10%, would be game-changing. I would even sacrifice a module slot for a module that gave me shields while being revived, which would be used solely on the Colossus, but still”.
Misyelpixel offered a helpful tip on how to survive revival. They said: “Spam dodge usually works for me if I’m healing, but not always”. Other players chirped in saying that the player reviving you should also get a small dome shield or a def buff.

Not All of The First Descendant Players Agree
Obviously, not all players agree with this idea, with some of them insisting dying upon revival is a skill issue. Made_Me_Paint_211385 stated: “No, it would be best if you learned to play. It should make you realize what a drag you’re on the team for being ill-prepared. You should lose your shards for dying consecutively, so you guys stop queueing up with the cr***iest builds”.
Fair_Extension_7767 didn’t hold back, either. They noted: “It’s unironically a build issue in 90% of cases and a skill issue in 90% of remaining cases. I don’t mean to be rude, but completely bluntly, if anything is one shotting someone when they get revived; they need to fix their build because they don’t have enough HP and/or DEF”.
We’d have to partially agree with both sides here. On the one hand, invulnerability upon being revived in The First Descendant would be an amazing thing. On the other hand, everyone should be perfecting their build. We don’t what the future will bring, but we’re looking forward to finding out, The August update is coming soon, and with it Luna and other lovely additions, maybe the devs will address this issue as well.
