Research is a big part of The First Descendant, and it takes all sorts of materials, among which is Hardener. Unlocking Descendants can be quite rewarding, and to do that, players will have to farm large amounts of this material. Luckily, farming Hardener is not that hard and it does not require players to battle waves of enemies or take down a Colossi. So let’s take a look at what players have to do to get Hardener in the game.

Although it is quite easy to get Hardener in the game, it can only be found in one region. This material is found by opening resource boxes and munitions which are scattered around the Vesper region. This is one of the first regions players will encounter after starting the game, especially if they are unlocking Freyna.

Munitions and resource boxes can be found all across the region, and simply interacting with them will drop Hardener. However, if you are having trouble finding some, using a scanner will reveal everything in one’s surroundings. So if players want to farm Hardener, all they have to do is enter the Vesper region and run around opening munitions and resource boxes.

What is Hardener used for in the First Descendant?

Hardener is a vital ingredient used to create materials for Descendant research. Although a large amount of this material is needed for every part created, this should not concern you. Every box that Hardener can be found in gives over 100 of it, so players should be good after a farm run or two. Additionally, this material is used to create other items, but not in the quantities needed to create Descendant parts. Below is a list of some characters and how many Hardener are needed in their recipes:

  • Ajax’s Stabilizer x386
  • Valby Catalyst x386
  • Viessa Spiral Catalyst x386
  • Yujin Spiral Catalyst x386
  • Ultimate Bunny Stabilizer x 869
  • Ultimate Gley Enhanced Cells x 869
