Skull and Bones is set to be released at the beginning of 2024, but can you play it on PlayStation? Read on and find out.
Ubisoft is releasing Skull and Bones very soon. This new pirate game will feature various types of ships, canons, weapons, sea monsters, and ship pets (What’s a pirate without his parrot?). Do this in the single-player campaign, or team up with friends and go on adventures together. Your group can plunder, smuggle, or look for some pirate treasure. Speaking of teaming up, there is a mention that the game will be crossplay-friendly. But on what platforms will it be playable? Can you play Skull and Bones on PlayStation? Find out below.
Can you Play Skull and Bones on PlayStation?
Yes, Skull and Bones is available to play on PlayStation 5. The game will be playable on all current-gen consoles and on PC, via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft’s website. Note that, as with any other PlayStation game, you must subscribe to PS Plus to be able to play Skull and Bones online. The pre-order of the game is currently priced at $69.99 on PlayStation’s official webstore.
An Open Beta just ended, and PS5 players were able to fully enjoy it. Also, full crossplay is also supported, so you can play Skull and Bones with your friends on different platforms.
- Engage in thrilling naval battles and equip a multitude of powerful weapons as you risk it all for the biggest loot.
- Sail the lawless seas solo, or team up with two friends or other players to partake in shareable contracts and rewards.
- Face cutthroat pirate hunters, deadly sea monsters, unpredictable weather, dangerous rogue waves, supernatural threats, and more as you explore a vast open world.

- Grow your infamy and unlock resources and opportunities to get riskier contracts and upgrade your equipment.
Is Skull and Bones PS5 Exclusive?
We have some bad news for PS4 users, for yes, Skull and Bones is Playstation 5 exclusive. Last-gen consoles just cannot handle what the game requires of them, so Ubisoft decided to make it current-gen exclusive. PS4 would not be able to reproduce the level of detail Skull and Bones has, so the experience would not be as the developers intended it to be.
Sadly, as we move forward, new games will be more demanding, and PS4 will have less and less support. If you are really excited about the new and upcoming games, maybe upgrading to the current-gen console should be your next step.
