Throughout the Redfall journey, players encounter various keys, some with apparent purposes, as they’re often directly tied to quests. It’s usually clear when a specific key is needed. However, there are instances where the use of a key may not be so apparent. A prime example, in my opinion, is the Shipyard Office key, which is needed to progress in a quest, however, depending on which location you choose to go to first. Depends on if you need to backtrack to the other location to acquire this key.
Where To Find Shipyard Office Key in Redfall
To find the Shipyard Office Key in Redfall, you need to head to the location marked yellow on the map, Dead Catch Records. I was lucky, as I went to this location first, so I did not have to backtrack. When you get there, dispatch the cult members that are around, and maybe a vampire or two.

Once inside, head on through the open door on the left side. On your left, you’ll see stairs; on your right, you’ll see a table. This table holds the Dead Catch Records studio key. Pick it up and head up the stairs. You’ll quickly find a door that needs this key. Be careful, as when you open this door, you’ll see an oblivious goon inside; satisfying, eliminate this enemy by lining up a headshot with a grin on your face. Turn right to enter the recording booth. Here you’ll find the Shipyard Office Key, and interact with the yellow highlighted equipment objective to turn off a broadcast, for the first stage of this quest.
How To Use The Shipyard Office Key in Redfall
Now you can go to the Shipyard Office. Enter this area however, you like; use stealth or go in guns blazing. Make your way to the bridge at the top of the warehouse. Follow the marker, and you’ll find civilians here. Kill the enemies and release them, then make your way to the top office where the key is needed. Once again, kill the lone enemy inside and finish the A Voice in the Dark quest for Redfall.
