When I was exploring Redfall, you slowly started to release that this world is filled with a Red Mist that will drain your health away the second you enter it. I realized this was going to be a pain to navigate until I unlocked my Translocation device when playing as Devinder. But if you don’t have this device, I found there was a way to remove the source of this mist so that you can roam the open world of Redfall freely.
- Interact with the other members of the retreat as they slowly become consumed by their own negative energy – Survive against an array of prismatic creatures and cultists released from The Gloom as you piece together the weird history of the island
- You must choose your fights, and battle for survival with spiritual weapons and abilities – Collect, craft, and manage your resources to take your chances in close combat – or succumb to panic and flee

How To Remove Red Mist in Redfall
There is only one way to get rid of the Red Mist in Redfall: UV Light. There is no other way. To do this, you need to equip yourself with a UV Light weapon, such as a UV Blaster, and fire it for a few seconds on the source of the Red Mist, a gargoyle. It’s tough to miss these, in my opinion.

I had wasted a lot of ammo trying to kill these gargoyles, causing the Red Mist, so when stumbling across a UV Blaster, I went straight to see if this was the solution. You know you are hitting the target when a startling scream comes from the vampire gargoyle. Despite the painful cries, show no mercy, as it wouldn’t hesitate to use its death mist on me. After the shrieking stopped, the Red Mist cleared within milliseconds, and the monster turned to stone.
Next, use any weapon to destroy the now-stone vampire before it regains its fleshy form. You can do this via shooting or with a couple of well-placed shots.
Another way to turn the Red Mist monster into stone is by activating a UV light within the area. However, only a few locations in Redfall have a nearby UV light for mist clearing, and they are usually near Safe Houses. That’s why I recommend relying on the Portable UV Beam, as it’s the most dependable means of clearing any Red Mist. Just ensure not to waste any other firearm ammunition on the vampire until it turns to stone.
