Redfall is the latest action-horror release from Bethesda, inviting players to a Massachusetts town by the same name. While the state is well-known for its history and cool, coastal living, the new title sees its small town setting overrun with vampires.
In the days following its release, Redfall has certainly received its fair share of criticism. However, many horror fans remain determined to wipe out the vampire siege that’s overtaken the town of Redfall and its population, seeking refuge in safehouses along the way.
Although these locations can serve as a home base for those in need of some rest after slaying vampires, safehouses aren’t immediately useful. In fact, they must first be unlocked if you’re hoping to step inside, take on some quests, or register the location as a fast travel point.

How Do You Unlock Safehouses in Redfall?
If you’re looking to unlock a safehouse location and call it your own in Redfall, you’ll have to get the power running first. In a game featuring vampires, this dilemma almost seems too realistic. Fortunately, it does mean that you’ll simply need to locate a power source to turn on the electricity.
To do this, look for a nearby generator. Every safehouse location in Redfall has one, so you’ll have no problems in this regard. However, getting to the generator will require some searching and a bit of vampire-slaying. You’ll also need a key for the Basswood Safehouse, specifically.

You can usually spot a generator within the same area as some wires and power cables. If you keep an eye out for electrical equipment like this, it should lead you straight to the power source. Of course, you’ll probably need to take out a few vampires in the process.
Once you’ve got the generator running, the safehouse will be unlocked for your convenience. Be sure to seek out each safehouse location in Redfall, as each one you unlock will become a permanent fast travel point to help you traverse the in-game open-world.
