How To Stake a Vampire in Redfall

Vampires are all over Redfall. You can hear them talking as you explore or teleporting from place to place. How Do You Stake a Vampire in Redfall

To stake a vampire in Redfall is very straightforward. You must damage a vampire enough so it becomes vulnerable, and only then can you stake it to kill it instantly. You cannot stake an oblivious vampire from stealth or stake it while it has health remaining.

How To Get Melee Weapons

You do not come equipped with a melee weapon, which is very annoying and a missed opportunity, in my opinion. Instead, some weapons you find when roaming the open world will come attached with stakes akin to a bayonet. To kill an undead monstrosity, you must cause it to enter the vulnerable state by dealing enough damage so its health bar has wholly depleted. Then change to the weapon with a stake attachment, then melee it. This will cause an animation to occur of you staking the vampire. You must change to a gun with a stake, or the vampire will rise again and start attacking.

Is There Another Way To Stake a Vampire?

There is another way to stake a vampire, and that is by equipping a Stake Launcher. This aptly named weapon uses stakes as ammunition, and firing it at a vampire can cause it to die instantly. If you are shooting a vampire at range with, say, a sniper rifle or assault rifle, and it enters the vulnerable state. You cannot reach it in time to stake it unless you switch to your Stake Launcher and fire at the vampire.
