Vanwyrm is a Dark/Fire-type Pal found in several locations throughout Palworld. Not only does this Pal boast an advantageous elemental type combination, but it also makes a powerful combatant to have at your side during battle, especially in the early to mid-game. You can even ride it as a mount, to boot. Let’s go over where you can find and catch Vanwyrm in Palworld, as well as its stats, partner skill, and work suitability.
Where to Find Vanwyrm in Palworld
In Palworld, the earliest area you can find Vanwyrm is nearby the Ravine Entrance fast travel point, pinpointed on the above map. You can reach this region of the map by following the land bridge that leads from Windswept Hills to Bamboo Groves. There, you won’t need to look far to find these ferocious Fire/Dark-types searching the skies for a good battle. They tend to spawn in small groups of two, so be sure to go in prepared alongside an able Water-type, like Celaray or Penking.
Apart from this location, you’ll also find wild Vanwyrm inhabiting Mount Obsidian. However, you’ll need to make a bit more progress to reach this area, which is essentially crawling with powerful Fire- and Ground-types. If you’re confident you’re up to the challenge, just head South from Bamboo Groves or West from Sea Breeze Archipelago.
How to Catch Vanwyrm in Palworld
While Vanwyrm is a pretty sizable Pal, aiming to catch one can be pretty tricky in Palworld. These Pals are extremely hostile, initiating a battle on sight. Moreover, they’re relatively fast compared to the other Pals you can find at this point in the game. This can make it tough to target, especially if you’re dealing with more than one opponent at once.
With this in mind, you should plan to take out all but one of the Vanwyrm that spawn. Go in with a Water-type to whittle its health down and maximize your catch rate. Dragon-types can deal a significant amount of damage, too, but avoid using species like Chillet, as Vanwyrm’s fiery attacks will hurt. Finally, opt for more powerful spheres, such as Mega Spheres or even Giga Spheres if you have access to them.
