Jukes are a fundamental part of any American football play. Whether you’re trying to break some ankles by doing a dead leg or simply throwing some defenders off with a standard juke, we can assure you that learning how to juke will drastically improve your gameplay. However, not juking properly can lead to massive turnovers every game. To make it easy for you, we’ve compiled a guide to help you understand how to juke better and when to do it in Madden 24.
How to Juke Players in Madden 24?
You can juke players by flicking the joystick on your controller to either side. Depending on which side you flicked it towards, your player will try to juke in that direction. Since the joystick is your main movement control, the command itself is pretty simple.
To perform a dead leg juke, you need to move your joystick downwards. Dead leg jukes are basically where your player fakes making a move in one direction but jukes the other way — the typical ‘breaking ankles’ maneuver. Now that you know how to perform jukes in Madden 24, let’s talk a bit about when you should juke and who to juke with. As we said, juking is easy, but knowing the right time to do it is more difficult.

When to Perform a Juke?
The best time to perform a standard juke is when you see a defender coming right at you from the front. Since he’s running in a straight line at full speed, he won’t be able to turn his direction quickly enough to react to your juke. You can easily throw him off with a standard left or right juke to continue your run.
The dead leg juke is performed when you see a defender running towards you at an angle. This is because you can easily feign a step to have them go past you before running ahead.
Another thing you should remember while juking is the player that’s running with the ball. Due to the high realism in Madden 24, heavier players will face difficulty in juking as compared to lighter and smaller players. So make sure the player you’re juking with is capable of pulling off a proper juke, otherwise you’ll lose the ball.
Other Types of Jukes
While you have the standard and dead leg juke, you can also do simpler actions like dive, hurdle, or spin. These are smaller jukes that don’t exactly throw off the defenders, but give you some breathing room to continue ahead.
Spin makes your player do a small spin to dodge an incoming defender. Hurdle is good for when a defender is coming at you from behind, you can hurdle and cause them to fall. Dive is just performing a small dive before the end zone to secure a touchdown before anyone else can knock you down.
