The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is canonically the first game in the series and follows the first Link as he’s aided on his quest by Fi. However, after that game, Fi has never made an appearance in any canonical Legend of Zelda game, though many players are theorizing that Tears of the Kingdom will be the one to change this.

If you’re also wondering whether Fi will be appearing in Tears of the Kingdom, then continue reading as we’re about to clear everything up regarding this.

Now, without beating around the bush, will Fi from Skyward Sword be coming in Tears of the Kingdom? Well, although it hasn’t been officially confirmed as of yet, we’re almost positive that Fi will be playing a huge part in the overall story of Tears of the Kingdom.

There are two major reasons we think this. The first is the fact that, in the very first reveal trailer of TOTK as well as the gameplay overview, Link is shown to spend time in the sky in addition to the other place it’s set in. Which game exclusively took place in the sky islands? Skyward Sword, that’s what game. Perhaps the ‘kingdom’ the title is referring to is not Hyrule but instead Skyloft.

Additionally, in the final pre release trailer of Tears of the Kingdom (the one that came out on the 13th of April), we can hear the king say “We rely on you knight and the legendary sword he carries” referring to Link and the Master Sword

When you take into consideration the fact that Fi is the spirit of the Master Sword and ends up sealed inside that same sword at the end of Skyward Sword, it might not be too farfetched to assume this was foreshadowing of Fi making an appearance in the game.
