The Master Sword is Link’s iconic weapon throughout countless iterations of the Zelda games. Getting the Master Sword in Breath of the Wild was one of the most memorable and satisfying experiences in the game. With that in mind, fans have been wondering if the Master Sword will make its return in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Will the Master Sword be in Tears of the Kingdom
While we have not seen Link handling the Master Sword in the trailer directly, those who paid attention may have noticed the Master Sword in a prominent place. From the promotional art for Tears of the Kingdom, we can see the sword featured in the logo itself. You can see the Master Sword overlaid into the Z for Zelda in the trailer. This symbol basically confirms that the sword will be included in Tears of the Kingdom.

Role of the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom
While the Master Sword is definitely going to be included in Tears of the Kingdom, we are still unsure about the role it will play. The logo symbol shows us a broken and rusting Master Sword, which may signify that it breaks at some point in the game.
Perhaps the Master Sword getting broken and Link getting it back to its full power will serve as a major plot point in the game. This could also refer to the villain Demise from Skyward Sword, sealed within the sword, escaping and becoming the antagonist for Tears of the Kingdom.
